Default Micro SCT Spur & Pinion or Rear Differential

Hey guys new to the forum and Losi as well

So I bought a couple of 7.4 V lipos to run in my Micro SCT. I did not make any changes to the spur or pinion gears ( I know I'm a dummy I couldn't help myself then again I did buy this to tinker around and rebuild stuff) . After about 5-6 minutes it got pretty warm and just crapped out. I took it apart it looks like the spur/pinion are ok but sounds like the rear differential is where the damage is. My question is can the rear differential be rebuilt or do I just replace with the whole assembled unit. Also if I replace the spur with a smaller aluminium gear will this enable me to run Lipo without melting or stripping.

Thanks in adavance for your opinions and or help,
Chris

So your front end spins but the rear doesn't?
