Hello Mike

I've received my tuning kit and I've reached the rear end. How do I remove the hex drives from the axles? It looks like pins have been press fit into the hexes. I'm stumped. Help!

I'm not Mike but I can answer. They're pressed in, but you just need something smaller in diameter. I just used a nail and ground the point down until it was flat and tapped the pin out with a hammer. The pins are in fairly tight, but once you gte them moving they come out quite easily. I'm sure htere's a fancy expensive tool you can buy, but hammer and nail worked just fine for me.

Thanks T-MAN. I guess I'm old school and saw something different than the old style of hex drive that slips over the pin on the axle and usually gets stuck in the wheel when you pull if off the axle. And you then have a chance of losing the pin. This new RTR hex drive design is the best I've seen. It stays in place when you remove the wheel. Cool. Oh by the way, I figured it out at lunch today. And I finally finished everything but the shocks. I don't have the stock 32.5 wt oil, so I'll be ordering that soon. But I think I'll put the old shocks back on and go out this weekend to fine tune the "new" truck. I'm happy. I only wish there was racing again in my community. I don't want to bash. I want to race!

I have another question. I have lost the hardware that attached the right steering tie rod to the front spindle when I went out to test my "tuned" SCT. I can't believe I did that...being a former offroad racer. I know better to tighten everything before I go out. Apparently I've been out of it for too long. So I went to Horizon to get a spare parts set (each set has all the hardware for that specific model) like my MRC Pro. In fact, for my MRC Pro, I instantly bought two sets for it. Just in case. But when I went to Horizon to find one for my SCT, I didn't find anything like that. Now I know what I need to fix it, but I want spare parts for future mishaps. Is Horizon/Losi going to offer such a package...soon? I'd go to the TLR site to search for it (coming soon, I'm sure), but I need an answer now. I want to go back out and run this truck as soon as possible. Nothing worse than running it for less than five minutes and then go home. Help!

The parts as shown in the manual are LOSA6229 and LOSA6306. And those packages for the MRC Pro were called "screw kits" (LOSB1726). Thanks RobE.
