hey guys,

i was just wandering what anti squat is really about. does changing it really affect the handling of the car. i know that it somewhat limit the leaning of the car during acceleration and braking, but what will happen when changing to a higher or lower degree of anti squat do in terms of the handling. and how will i know what anti squat to change to for a specific track.

i've even read about some guys running pro squat at the rear cause they want more traction to the rear wheel. not really sure about that though.

any thoughts?

moe,
The effects of anti-squat are noticed only when you brake or accelaerate. In general:
More anti-squat makes the rear of the car more sensitive to throttle input. The car has more steering while braking, and also a little more powering out of corners. A car with more anti-squat can also jump a little higher and further, and it will soak up the bumps a little better off-power.

Less anti-squat gives more rear traction while accerating on a slippery or dusty track. It also gives more side bite. Less anti-squat will make the car acceleerate better and faster through the bumpy sections. Very little anti-squat 0 or 1 degree makes the rear end feel planted and stable.
Hope this helps.
