I bought a 17.5T motor and ESC combo for my LCC recently. First one was DOA, Horizon Hobby replaced the motor and ESC. The new one seemed to run great with latest crawler firmware and programming. The battery cut off was set to 9v 3s LiPo. After about 10 min of light duty use the car quit responding like the first combo did. Figuring it was the LiPo cut off, I took the shell off only to find a smoking esc capacitor and severly swolen LiPo. I had to remove the bar over the battery holder to remove the battery. Luckily, I got it into a LiPo bag before it blew up. I called Horizon again and explained to them what happened and they said the battery was my fault (brand new LOSB9865) but the esc could be replaced. The LiPo bag isn't a big deal but what about my $50 dollar battery. both are Losi products and one deffinately caused the other to fail.
