New Starter Box for 8 and 8t. This box has one big motor that kicks butt! We have used and abused this box for Nitro Challenge, Silver State, the ROAR nats, and it never let us down.

Hey Casey,

1) I use the 5000lipo in my present box, will it still fit in the new one?

2) Does the 2.0 buggy fit a little better on this box? (Find with the present box the Truggy fits great and the buggy has a bit to much back and forth)

Mac you should be able to use the battery. It has some cool mounting bits included for a variety of different battery configurations.

Yes they both fit real nice

We need a cash for clunker program for our old boxes:D
Actually, I have only lost a few motors in mine, and it was when I let someone else use it!! Rewired with wet noodle wire and 14.8 Lipo really bring it to life!!

Hey... I ordered one of these through my LHS earlier this week. I'm currently running 2x 2S 25C LiFe hard packs in a series... these are AWESOME! Lipo torque w/o the fire hazard.

Yes, sometype of discount should be given for those exchanging it for their old 8ight boxes. The LHS should do the exchange.

The first 8B,T starter box motors in mine were very weak... I bought another replacement, and used heavy gauge wire and deans connectors.... Recently fried another motor.. Not happy.:(

buy a set of 19T stock motor's from an electric guy....a cheap matching pair of can's are all you need...or call up losi and they will send you some new one's....more then likely the 590's not the original 550's. :)

I don't think the 775 motor will be a direct fit whatsoever in the original 8IGHT starter box.

I have had trouble getting my 427 started and have to go box to box to get it started. I just recicied the new box and the lipo battery. All I can say is after a quick test with the battery not charged and right out of the package,I think my troubles are over.

Charge the lipo...they only come at 50-60% ;)

Thats what I was meaning. With the battery right out of the package it spun it so fast. The new box with the lipo is the way to go!

I was able to fit a 12 v jell cell into the box. Used the battery connector from my last box to connect it.

About all that's left are the battery cables themselves. Make sure they are clean and tight at all connection points, especially the ground. A good investment would be a Chilton or Haynes service manual for your Explorer. They are available at most auto parts stores and will pay for themselves the first time you fix it yourself and don't have to pay labor costs.
