Been a while since ive posted, figured i would start a new thread with what im doing...
seemed like everyone that i know of didnt wanna do my wraps or was to busy to take new orders so i did my research and have come up with two nice looking body's so far.. i didnt get pics of the first wrap i did, it was decent just not as glossy as i would like, so i went a different route and this is what ive come up with so far. this is my second attempt for another friend of mine. its going on a white body.. photoshop is like freggin rocket science to me, but its getting easier. took about 2 hours to get the wings done.. think i need to work on the number a bit. let me know what you think

I would def work on the number some.... It looks too much like the numbers that come with the mini late model. Did you use the IMPACT font for those? You can get a lot of PSD number sets from here: http://www.masgrafx.com/racing/index.php?module=Downloads&func=sublevel&cid=21&start=0 I use a lot of what MasGrafx has. But keep up the work!! I do my own decals as well and have found that is the only way I can get them right! Also you might want to look at the car skins for the Outlaws from the Boz Racing mod for rFactor. That is how I make my authentic sprint skins for my RC cars. Just a tip.

definatly thanks for the tips.. needed the fonts for sure. i only took a peek at those sites but looks like a load of helpful stuff.. and yes it was impact font with i think the chrome filter and some coloring. i cant seem to get much out of the filters tho.. i would like to get like a 3d shadow on them but havent quite figured it out yet.. i ordered the losi sticker sheet so i can make an accurate body template. you wouldnt happen to have some mini sprint engine and drivetrain images would ya? i can scan losi's and use it but ill have to buy or borrow a scanner. but anyway, i should get stuff today to make a body template and ill be posting some finished work. im doing 3 of them for a some other guys just for the practice and im going to do joey saldana's 2011 car for myself.

Welcome man.
And yes, I have the stock engines scanned in. I will post them tonight when I get home from work. I also have templates with engines that I can give you where I did them the represent the different manufacturer's engines.

What sticker paper do you use for your wraps? I see that the stickers are duplicates of existing graphics. Is it possible to design you own graphics? In other words, does anyone know a program to create your own designs?

Sprint cars are hard to make look good. I have seen a lot of real cars in my day and that red bull car looks is a good looking car.:)

thanks.. also threw a few washers under the shock pistons if anyone noticed the the redbull car being lower.. made the sideways action a lot more predictable... its about a 1/4 inch lower than stock.. drives better and looks better

Corel draw is the design progam, but could you tell me the name of the paper you are using? Also, where did you buy the paper. Your cars really look good! Thanks

I've been running my mini-sprint on a small carpet oval in a modified mini-sprint class. Car is powered by a Dynamite Fuze brushless system with an 8300kv motor in it. Cool looking Steve Kinser wrap was done by JCrooks. I highly recommend his work.
I'm loving this class. Car was very good the first time out. I'm running 100 weight in the right front and 80 weight on the other corners. I have a piece of fuel tubing over the shock shaft on the right front to make it even stiffer. Silver springs on the left front and right rear. Gold springs on the right front and left rear. I have some preload on the right rear that makes the car steer a little more coming off the corner.
If you have a small dirt or carpet oval close to your house, I highly recommend these little rides. Tons of fun!

awesome job matching the tank n hood to the decals... looks gooood :D
sure dont see how you get that thing to handle with that oil.. gets way to bouncy it seems to me.. i run 25 wt all around... ive got mine lowered a 1/4 inch black springs on LF n RR silver on the others.. bit a preload on the RF n LR.. we have a dirt oval with a 160 ft runline.. fast time last weekend was 5.2 seconds... that was with a stock losi lm motor in it... cant believe they quit making these.. way better than offroad!

Most of us at the track are running them this stiff. It is on carpet and not dirt, so that must make a difference. On top of that, the 8300 motor really wants to thrown the car over so the stiffer setup is necessary.
It's a great platform. Love the mini-oval stuff. It's a fun departure from the off-road I usually race. I'm going to invest in a Losi Mini Late Model as well so I have a second class when I go.
