I figured this would be a good place to post. I want to paint a body for my 8ight t. Just wondering what are some do's and don'ts are? Any pointers would help a lot, thanks.

Patience is key, if your applying too thick of a coat to get it done fast you'll have paint run for sure. Quick thin coats do the best job. When masking, make sure you spend some time getting every edge free of air bubbles and nice and tight to the shell. Before starting you must wash the body and dry it well in order to get grease from your hands off it so the paint will adhere properly. Oh, and don't remove the protective film on the outside of the shell until AFTER painting the inside! Just in case you get anxious... lol :)
These are the few things that helped me paint my first shell.

This will be my first body that I paint. What do you mean by masking? Is that taping it so you can have the multi colors on it? Thanks for the reply. And that's a nice lookin buggy!

I'm not Euro, but yeah, his turned out really. As far as masking, yep you've got the idea. 2 ways, you can use liquid mask, available at your LHS. Just brush it on, a couple coats and it makes a thin coat that you can cut out designs, peel off and paint. Some guys like it, some guys don't. Just a matter of personal preference.
Or you can just use masking tape, just make sure you use the good automotive tape not the cheap stuff, or you'll get bleeding under the edges and not very sharp lines.
If you go to RC Tech they've got a whole forum designated to painting RC bodies with tons of very good tips and different styles of painting.
Here's one I picked up: Cut out the section you want to paint, say the hood section. Lay down a fairly thick coat of silver, then roll up a piece of saran wrap into a ball and pat it on the paint while still wet. When dry, cover with black. You'll love the effect. Or you can do the same but instead of saran wrap, use the woven looking drawer liners you get for your cupboard drawers. This will give you a graphite composite affect. Hope that gets you started
