I'm looking for some tire prep tips for my mini sprint. I'm needing something that will help me hook up on a very slick surface, and when I say slick I mean my local mall floor, lol. They race inside the mall in front of the hobby shop. Any ideas? thanks

I've never raced on a mall floor, but I have had excellent results with Trinity 'Red Dot' tire sauce on LOSI 'Street' tires on my mini-latemodel on the local dirt oval (VERY smooth clay surface). Be careful with some tire sauces, since the LOSI mini tires seem to be molded with a very different synthetic "rubber" than larger offroad tires - some chemicals can actually "dissolve" the tires... The Red Dot doesn't seem to have any negative long term effects...
A less "chemical" approach is to use Simple Green in concentrated form to clean/treat the tires between runs. For this method on hard surfaces (parking lots, etc.), I just spray the Simple Green onto a rag and wipe the tires down until clean, then leave a light coating of the Simple Green on the tire. Nothing "high tech", but you may be surprised at the traction this method can produce...

This is the secret. Can't believe I am actually posting this, so you are fortunate.
1. To soften the tires spray PB Blaster (http://www.pbblaster.com/) on a rag. Wipe the PB Blaster on to the tire making sure that you do NOT get any on the side walls and especially down into the bead. Once you have a nice coat of PB Blaster on the tire wrap it in Plastic Wrap. Leave for at least 12 hours. Repeat this process until you get the softness you desire.
2. Now to make the tires sticky. Tire Honey (http://www.t2crc.com/Foam_and_Rubber_Traction_Compound_p/pd0500.htm) or Lucas Engine Oil Stop Leak (http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=83&catid=7&loc=show&headTitle=%20-%20Engine%20Oil%20Stop%20Leak). I have had great success with both. Put either or on a rag and wipe onto tire, then again wrap the tire in Plastic wrap. Leave the plastic wrap on the tire until you go to the race (min 12 hours). Pull the plastic wrap off then enjoy the world of very sticky rubber tires!
**NOTE: THIS PROCESS IS FOR RUBBER TIRES ONLY!!!!!!! DO NOT DO THIS TO FOAM TIRES!!!!**

I have found the street meats to have more traction than the kit tires. I have also found Bald, smooth tires grip more. If your willing to try grind the tread off.
