4s vs 5s

What would be the best battery for the 8ight-e overall? Should I go with a 4s lipo or 5s lipo? I see most people using 4s lipos.. is this for overall heat control?

using a 5s with a smaller kv motor will reduce heat

I have run both. For the track, the 4s is prob the best.. if you're bashing or doing speed runs down the street, use the 5s.

If you're only gonna buy one of the two, the 4s would prob be the better choice overall. Just try to get a 5000 mah pack so you have some nice run time.

I have since ordered two 4s 5000mah packs.

I felt the 5s may introduce too many ESC issues as it seems touchy from all the posts on here.

I strictly race my 2.0 and i only run 4s with a conservative gearing. 2200kv with 14/45, 4s 20-30c. Great success!
