 I am looking at getting a LCC this winter. I have been reading about what motors everyone has been running....I am looking mostly at brushless. I have been seeing that a lot of people are using 21.5t motors and are having heat issues.
Has anyone looked at lower turn motors? I have been thinking of 17.5 or 19.5 with a 2s lipo & 3s lipo. Would these be a better choice?

Hi ... i use the Novak 21.5t brushless with 12t pinion at 2S lipo. This combination works great without heat issues.

Thanks DH, I have been wondering if a slightly lower turn motor would be worth a try still though. I am looking at a Tekin RSPro 19.5. I still have time to do more research, but the more input received, the better. You're using a 12t pinion....any idea what your heat is running?

Try a 21.5t brushless with a 16 tooth pinion and a 3S lipo. The crawler is smooth as silk on the rocks. My motor/esc combo is a Novak Goat 3S and Novak sensor-based 21.5t Crawler.

I'm looking to stick with a 2s lipo or a 3s A123...not sure yet

I run the 21.5 turn Vortex team orion combo fitted with a 13T pinion, and the little load i have put on my LCC so far havent made anything run warm or close to anything i would call warm.

The 13t pinion might be too little regarding wheelspeed ;)
but the warmest part i have so far is the worm drives and im barely able to feel a heat increase on the diffs. ( 32 min full speed run to break in worm drives )

still need my radio to arrive and tighten my slipper up as it do a too good job ATM :D
