Last night OCRCRC held their first ever night competition and it was a perfect opportunity for us to test out our Night Crawler lighting system.

I bolted up the LED light set to my comp rig and prepared for some intense night crawling.
The LED set comes pre-wired and ready to plug into your receiver, which is great. However, I didn't have any free ports on my receiver... so I wired in a voltage regulator and used a 2S MRC lipo pack to power the lights directly.
I didn't have much night crawling experience before the comp, so I was excited to give it a try. The comp was held in Corona Del Mar, at one of my favorite SoCal crawl spots. The crawling was extremely tough and drivers had to rely only on lights mounted to their rigs to navigate the courses. The LED's (and a few glow-sticks for effect) provided plenty of light for me to get around the tricky courses. Since I managed to forget a flashlight, the LED's even provided enough light for me to walk to and from the courses over some treacherous obstacles. The MRC lipo had plenty of juice to light the way for me and my rig for the night.
I didn't manage to get any pics during the comp, but here's a few of the stealth bomber after its first night comp. Hopefully Rich got some action shots...

Overall, night crawling is a blast and provides some interesting challenges. My LED light set worked awesome and let me see crawling in whole new light :p
