Well been out of the hobbie for the better part of 16 years, so I picked up an old original MF. Its a well used but a complete truck. I’ve come to the forum for advise, pointers, and ideas. So to get started, where would you begin with this truck.
I figure this is the place to start, a truck that came out almost 11 years ago would be considered vintage.

Nice truck! Start out with an inexpensive brushless system. That truck will move.;)

brushless is something i would like to get into at some point. First step is to take this box of parts and make a running truck.
If i understand correctly from what i have been reading, most XXXT parts from my old truck are going to be the same as a modern XXX truck ????

Yes, most of the new XXXT parts will work so you will not have any poblem with getting it back together. Just make sure to rebuild the diff, outdrives, dog bones, new bearings and you wil have a great truck to hit the track with!

I gave my MF2 to my son and wish I hadn't i got a new XXXt cr and i hate it i have tried many setups and just cant get a handle on it My MF2 was perfectly balanced handling wise and so I reclaimed it from the kid (hes 19 now) and it has returned my love for stadium truck...
I really did hate the CR it just wouldn't handle on our dry dusty or loamy track conditions just couldnt get the back end to stick...
theres nothing wrong with an MF1 it will work fine.
There is a losi 22T coming soon and maybe ill try again as long as it doesnt need saddle packs

Picked up a new radio (2.4ghz) from the LHS and once I did that I noticed the motor wasn’t quite what I was hoping for, so just placed an order for a brushless system from Novak. Since the last post I gave the trans and dif a rebuild along with the chassis bearings. Hope to be running by the end of the week…..
Should have just bought a BNR LOSI short course truck!
