I am thinking about converting my 8t over to electilric but first I would like to get some opinions on the Losi conversion kit. Is it a pretty good kit? Is installation pretty simple? Are there any reasons I should not go through with the conversion?

I recently purchased a used 8t and I really don't feel like messing with gas. I am much more comfortable with electric.

its alrite. not exactly top notch, but for the price and the fact that it comes with all the hardware you need (minus the brushless system) its definitly a good deal and i would recomend it. you might possibly need a dremel (i did but others have not). some complain that the motor mount doesnt offer enough gearing choices, you can only go as high as 45t spur unless you put spacers under the cd assembly, but i found a good ratio of 12-13/45 on a castle mmm combo so it doesnt bother me personally, its mostly racers that grip about it. if need to you can get a rc-monster motor mount as a hop-up. but over all its a good beginner conversion.

I used the losi conversion kit on my 8ight T and I have no complaints at all...

Only thing i would do different is use a plastic center spur gear as the steel one that comes with the kit is a little noisy...

There is nothing else i would say needs to be different.

I love my 8T 2.0 that I converted to electric. The thing is a missle and kills the gas version. I am using the Losi 1700 and the 5000 Losi Battery with the plastic spur gear. The conversion kit was easy and straight forward the only small issue is I can only run 2 battery straps as the the third one (on the 2.0) lines up with the spur gear. I think it is because of the longer chassis but not positive.

I love the truck!!
