Hi
I am totally new to r/c cars and just got a Losi ~Speed t RTR with a couple of Powertech RC5100 NiMH batteries.
The thing is, what kind of 'life' (run time) can I reasonably expect from this type of battery. I am only getting about 10 mins run time from a full charge, I am deeply disappointed by this - should I be?

Hi ya.. I am new to this forum,
If it is a Nimha battery you are using, you need to drive the car untill the battery goes flat, recharge and the flatten for at least 4-6 times, each time strenghting the battery and then you will see the battery will last longer each time...

Nimi's are OK, but you may want to consider investing in a Lipo. The benefits are as follows:
NiMi gradually loses power as the battery is depleted, whereas Lipos stay at peak power throughout the charge
They have a much longer run time
They have considerably more power compared to a NiMi of the same voltage
Just my 2 cents (or 2 pence in your situation LOL)

I reckon I am getting 20-30 mins out of a Losi Branded 3S 11.1v 3200MaH LiPo :)
