I just bought an 8ight 2.0e and it is incredible !!! I am having severe heat issues to where my esc is shutting down with the thermal overload protection. Could you please tell me what might be causing this issue ??? I am going to list everything I can that I have setup on the car so you can get a better idea. Thanks :-)

Stock Losi 8ight 2.0e.....14 tooth pinion, stock spur gear, mesh set perfect, stock diff fluid, I programmed the esc with the card and it has normal timing set, 8% drag brake, full throttle, 20% brake, Losi 14.8 v LIPO batt, Set the throttle curve on my M11 to ease up the snappy feel of the motor/esc, Losi Heat Sink installed, holes cut in body for airflow, air temperature was about 85 degrees, our track is kind of short so Im on and off the throttle quite a bit, the straight is about 80 feet long, ran for about 7 minutes before it thermaled.......any other info you need I can get.

Thanks for any help you can give me. My runtime seems to be fine but it has thermalled on me twice.

Set timing to low, check pinion to spur mesh, make sure its not to tight. Also get rid of drag brake as that causes lots of heat.

Are you sure this is a thermal shut down or is it low voltage cut-off? The reason I mention this is I was out last week at Revelation Raceway running in 100 degree weather with 1700KV geared 45/16 and never experienced any type of thermalling.

If he's hitting LVC after 7 mins with a 5000mah batt, then he has other serious probs.

where did he say he was using a 5K MAH battery? His Losi battery could be a 2200 used in starter boxes?

Eh?? Who in the right mind would buy a 2200mah 4S batt for a buggy? 25C 2200mah batt is good for only 55A sustained . You need twice that for a E buggy.

I dunno, but someone new to the hobby may use one unknowingly. Like I said he never mentioned using a 5Kmah battery all he said was a Losi 14.8V.
