I have an 8ight-E 2.0 roller on the way and was just wondering what servos you guys recommend?
Also, is it possible to run the 8ight-e on a 27mhz controller (traxxas stock) temporarily until my spektrum arrives?
Thank you so much

Try to stay around the 200oz torque at least for the steering. I like the 9100s.
I don't think I would take a chance with that radio. Lots of interference on am 27band. I would hate to see a run away 8e.

The JR 9100 series servos rock ! I would not use the Traxxas radio .

I use the Hitec 7955TG for everything. It's practically indestructable, fast, and has more than enough torque.

Most of the guys at our track use the Hobbico HS-170. 330+ oz and still fast enough to keep you on your toes, all for around $85 depending on dealer. :D

I run a JR DS8711 aluminum gear in my Ebuggy, and JR9100T in the nitro buggy. Great servos and 3 year warranty.

Thanks for all your replies.
My lhs has some hitec servos in the 170 oz/range, .12 speed @6v, and around $70. Does that sound like something I should bite on ?

It will work, but you should try to shoot for something atleast 300 oz. 170 oz. may be a little weak for hard racing conditions.

300 oz is overkill for a buggy , needed for a truggy but not buggy .

Call it overkill, call it silly for all i care. It may not be needed, but it gets the job done with flying colors.

I have been racing for about a year now, and i have been using the same 3 servos i bought a year ago. As far as your cocky attitude, dont get mad at me because i run with the best. Remember, we are on this thread to help a newcomer. If you dont understand that PM me and we can work it out another way.

#1 , there is no attitude , lighten up . #2 , mad at you ? why would I be ? Because you run an overkill steering servo ? Not likely . #3 , nothing to work out bud . Not exactly sure where you are getting this from my comment on the servo and that I thought it was funny you never heard of Multiplex .

You never have too much strength in your steering. Come see me at the farm2 "expert"

Actually with the right setup you can have to much .
" expert " ? Where do you come up with this stuff ? Seems like you think you are the expert .
BTW , nobody said Multiplex was better the JR , was just a comment by someone that runs them. I suppose your the only one allowed to post comments ?

I know your type. Sad that people like yourself exist on a forum like this. You are the first negative person i have ran into so far on the Losi forum. I'm done here.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Looks like my 8ight-E 2.0 is tied up in customs now so who knows how long it'll be until it's delivered. I'll have a bit more time to investigate my servo options :/

No, i took my claritin, thanks for the reminder though. Keep up with your personal attacks!
Anyways..... As far as a steering servo, i run a JR DS 8711 (AL gear) in my electric buggy. I absolutely love it and have NO complaints whatsoever. In my nitro car i run JR 9100T for steering and JR9100S for throttle/brake. GREAT combo! Hope this helps!!
I love my Ace DS1015 servos - fast and plenty strong enough for any 1/8 :D

8ight-E was delivered today so I called around to see what my lh stores had.
I ended up going with an AE XP DS1015, 201oz, 0.10 speed.
Thanks for all your assistance... it really helped me make an informed decision on torque and speed.
Excellent choice ;)
You will love them too
