Back in the early 90's I built my very first "real" RC vehicle and it was a Losi Junior-T with a blue and pink (free paint) body. I will see if I can find any old photos and get them posted. I learned the hard way about radio interference the first time I took it to the local track.:( So gald we have 2.4GHz DSM these day's!!:)

What about you, what was your first Losi?

My first losi was a JR-X2 in 1990. I was so stoked going from a Traxxas Hawk to the Losi buggy.

I wish I something nostalgic to add but my first Losi was a xxx buggy. And just like Travis it was a huge upgrade from my b3.

First Losi was the original white boxed JRX2,got it just before the Winter Mid-West offroad race in Columbus,was the only 1 to make the A in 2 wd mod.Was a really cool car.

First for me was my first kit, a JRx-Pro SE. Converted it to Dirt Oval and ran many seasons with that car. The dirt oval track closed and moved to where they held outdoor off road races...the season that the original XX came out. Never really got to see what this car could have done in it's prime off road...

My first car was a losi XXX-T spec truck. I think it was the cheapest r/c available at the time. I remember when it was ready to go I had spent less than I would have on an RTR.

Mine was a JRX-T. My first 2wd was the XX. My first touring car was the infamous...STREET WEAPON. My first 1/8th was an 8IGHT.

Mine was the white box jrx2 as well,still have it. Dyno remembers it, from back in the day. :)

Haha no kidding, I go farther back than that. My first rc race was in 84' at the same track in Del Mar where Gil Losi Jr. won the first (ever) IFMAR World 4wd off road title just a year later.

i still have my old jrx t,that i bought in 90 it as been run offroad, oval, converted to buggy, run offroad and carpet oval, not it just sits on the shelf....i also have an old jrx2,

i have had the xx, xxt, xxxt and mf2 along with the xxx kinwald, bk2, and a cr i had a gtx, then the xxxnt,

raced the street weapon, at the end with the cyrul conversion. numerous versions of the xxxs and graphite+

i had a front motor jrxs, and currently have the rear motor car...

loved my 8, and now have two 2.0....

My first Losi was the short lived XXX-T Spec with those awesome blue tires! I wish losi would release those babies again...like a limited run or something :D That was a huge step up from my old school Stampede, and my first kit too.

my first Losi is my brother's JRX-2 converteted to a truck, still race it once in a while, people laugh at it, front body mounts have broken over the years, so i adapted a Jato body mount on the front so the body sits too high, but it's not how it looks, it's how many laps i put on the counter! my LHS has 2 diffs left, and 2 front bulk heads left over. i do need front arms, running AE GT arms on the front. this truck drives great still, fun chasing people down with it and TQing!

My first was a XX buggy. Moved on from my RC10 team car and what an improvement and never looked back. Ran losi for 14 straigth years. (small break away which we won't talk about here) but back to losi and couldn't be happier. Here is my list of cars owned over the years. One of two of them I bought twice! :eek:

My first was the JRX2 back in `89 and been a Losi fan ever since . I`ve had every off-road buggy and truck Losi has put into production since then , beside the Spec versions . I still have a box with a few JRX2 buggies with old NIP parts . I just wish I had the bodies for them :mad: .

Still have the Junior T??? My first Losi was a Junior T and I (don't hurt me) tossed in the trash after stripping a few parts from it when I was 14 or 15. Boy was that a dump idea. I wish I still had it.

ditto.....Mine was purchased from a guy I knew at the indoor dirt oval we used to have here back then....1993 i believe....It was pretty stock...about the only mod it had was silicone coated foam tires....those were the hot setup back then.....you'd just chuck the tired up in a drill, turn it slow, spread a dab of windshield sealing silicone on the tread, and smooth it with a wet finger as it turned....My JRX-T went something like 11 races that winter without losing, and I broke the track record for the class several times too....

My brother inlaws nephew got it as a Bday gift about 4-5 years ago, and he still runs it around, though he needs some new batteries for it....The only stick pack NiCads we gave him with it are kinda toast....otherwise it still runs good....

My first losi Was a jrx-2. I also had a JRX-T that I converted to a jrx-pro back in the early 90's. Sold it off all in the late 90's but then started collecting the vintage stuff a few years ago.
Here is a Junior-2 that I built from a new in the box kit last year, complete with an "Andys" Pro-painted boxart body.

I have been lucky enough to get many of the original cars and tons of aftermarket parts.
Currently I have at least one of each of the original series of cars/trucks up to the LXT except for the junior-2.

My first Losi, and indeed my first R/C ever was a NXT "racer" kit, back in 2000, complete with a sweet oilite bushing set. I put an OS CV red head into that beast and proceded to wreck it as best I could, haha. A few years later I picked up a XXX-NT kit, which went over much better and was painted to match the box :D. Now I've got a JRX-S Type R on the way.

My history with Losi(or RC in general) doesn't go that far back. Started with the LST(must admit I was looking to get a Savage or Revo), just the look of it had me. I like the philosophy that drives all Losi's design, as I'm a big fan of weight centralization.

Now that I think about it I actually started two months before getting the LST, when I bought a Tamiya onroad car. Electric just got boring really quick, and nitro is still where I have the most fun. First Losi was (and still own & drive)

JRX Pro.........I was tired of all the RC-10 Hype, and was very happy with my decision.
The buggy is set-up with a Tekin- 410 speed controller and Losi's Revolution Insane motor.
Through the years I upgraded with threaded shock bodies, changed to the larger buggy tires, and put in a P2k motor.

I then purchased XXT MF2
and bought my son a Desert Truck

Now I'm looking forward to the Strike

I started out in R/C with a Kyosho Ultima but built my JRX2 when it came out. I've had every Losi electric buggy ever built. I've been getting a new Losi buggy every year for Christmas ever since the JRX2. I currently have 3 XXX-CR's, and a XX-4 WE. I have original Team Losi Revolution Racing Stock motors! I still have Paragon Jump Jets NIP.

I still have my first Losi, a JRX2 "white box", still has the stock Losi Revolution motor in it, Novak T4 speed control, still have the original rims and tires, even have a set of Trinity Star rims, with Proline "Wide 5" front tires and RED rear pins. Still has the original Futaba Magnum Jr. radio I used in it.

I'll have to scan some pictunes, but I have a shot of me(11) driving me Junior-2 on a track for the first time. If only my parents would have known what they started!!!!:D

I also have a shot of me on a starting grid 2 years later with my JRX-T. Good stuff!!!!!:)

My first Losi was the JRX2 when it first came out. Ran AE up to this point as that was all there was really for 2WD off-Road.

Loved the orange rims that you had to zip-tye\glue the inner side as they would crack easily. I remember getting some prototype white nylon front wheels from a person I can't name before a local team driver did :D

We need a JRX2 re-issue 5 link! I would run it.

I have a JRX Pro my 5yr old has claimed, as he loves driving this around the driveway. I swapped out for Speed-T shocks as I had a new set sitting on a shelf, and the car did not have original shock anyways so did not matter.

My first Losi was a JrX2. The box was white too...(there their different boxes? were the cars different?). I can't remember the year. It was no later than '88.

My first was a JRX2 white box I purchased straight from Kenny at "The Ranch Pit Stop", Losi's shop and track in Pomona, CA. I up graded from a Kyosho Raider I won in a drawing at Racers Haven in Bakersfield during an on-road event. AHH, GREAT memories for sure!

Kenny? You mean Ken? Asian guy that drove a accord station wagon? I remember him... Nice guy. Remember Marcus the announcer? I used to race every friday or saturday... what ever day it was. I did it for years...

I remember racing with the Jr-T... Years ago, but man those were some fun times.

WOw good thread. Lets see here it all started for me when my friends mom worked in verona and there was a track there. I was in to monster trucks such as the blackfoot,clod,kyosho high rider etc. I always thought that buggies and trucks were stupid,too small etc until the first time i went to the track. The xx and the xxt were the top cars at the time. Once i saw those car driving around i was sold. How they handled,how low they sat,the paint jobs everything. Just the whole race atmosphere how everyone was so into wrenching on there cars and stuff. Those are the memories ill never forget. My 1st losi was a jrx2 that i bought used from some kid that used to race at this place called east street raceway in verona pa. It was missing the shocks and the kid only wanted 50 bucks for it. I never got to race any of my cars at east street. When i had everything to race i went back and they were closed. I couldnt afford one new at the time so this was the next best option. I remember i had truck and buggy wheels and would switch the body/wheels and run it as both.:)

SInce then i've had (in order somewhat lol)

My first Losi was a Junior 2 buggy, and it came with a VHS tape on how to build your car. I could have sworn it was Joel Johnson that was in the video doing the step by step. After that, i was one of the first in vegas to get the XX buggy.
