hi adam i just purchased an 8ight-e and im running on a smaller track and with this car im always looking for more steering what can i do to the stock setup to increase my steering especially off power the rear of the car is totaly planted but the front end has too much push for my taste, right now the car is basically stock i was thinking of running the shorter wheelbase and maybe the shorter Ackermann arm? im running
27mm ride hight front
29 in the rear
just a little toe out in the front tires
1 degree of camber
basically stock 8-e setup

If you step your front toe to -2 it will increase steering. The shorter wheelbase should also help by making the car more nimble and better in tight turns. One thing I would also try is moving your rear shocks to the outside hole on the tower. This should take away part of your side-bite and let the rear slide around the corners instead of pushing the front. The last thing I'd try is a longer camber link in the front. This should make the front feel like it has more grip in corners and maybe move it down to the bottom hole on the tower. Angling the link should make turn in very aggressive because the front wants to roll more than the rear. So if you do this when you tap the brake getting into the corner the rear should want to slide, as well as putting the weight on the front tire making the front dive and giving you more grip. Running a little thinner diff fluid in the front should increase off power steering as well.
I am in no way a pro but from what I've learned on setups this should help.

i just tried mt new center smart diff in my 8ight-e and i must say im not impressed at all ive been using the smart diff for the last three times i went to the track and to be honest i cant get the car to turn as well as it did with the stock diff with stock oil (5000 i think) , first i ran the smart diff stock and it seemed to turn just a little less and accelerated about the same ,then i tried the next stiffer springs thinking it would free up the steering and it was a little better turn in but the front tires ballooned like crazy so then i tried the 2 .15 springs with 2 coils cut off and the car didn't want to turn at all and accelerated about the same as the stock diff and the smart diff would get noticeably hot when i ran it this way so i went back to the way it came out of the box .........to be honest i feel like it was a big waist of money i think im putting the stock setup back in
im running on a blue grove track on the tighter side so i thought it would help me turn tighter.......not

I run indoor a lot in NC, toe out and removing the front sway bar were my most dramatic changes. I tried the smart diff in center and hated it. I have it in the front and it works well.
