just wondering what you guys recommend to use with my highroller to be able to handle a 8.4v battery with no problem?? it currently has the stock MSC12RB 12T esc and i am looking at the MSC12SL12T HighPower esc. will this combo work??
i burnt the stock esc out while running the 8.4v battery.
thanks

the MSC12SL12T esc is still only rated at 7.2v, theres plenty of esc's on the market that would suite the truck.

so say i get one of these esc's, what about running all my 7.2s that i have? i was told the esc that is on my highroller would handle the 8.4 no problem but apparently not. i only have one 8.4 and about 6 7.2s so am i just better off getting the latter of the 2 that i mentioned above?
thanks for the responses as i am new to rc modding.

hi there, a better esc from say lrp or one of the big brands would make more sense in my opinion, you can then run your 8.4v or your 7.2v, without the worry of burning it out, it does state in the manual that came with the hr that the esc is only rated at 7.2v.

hope this helps.

there is another option: you can cut open the battery heat shrink and de-solder the 7th cell then solder a flat bar over the 2 ends of the cells thus making it 7.2v costing you $2 and giving you a 7th 6cell pack and alleviating any money concerns. I have done it before and the pack is still one of the strongest batteries in my kit.
