I think the Losi handles best after it has some play and is broken in. I shimmed all of the play out of my car one time and it didn't work nearly as well. Not saying the car should be completely worn out but I think with that amount of play you are in good shape.;)
Yes, the car handles better with bit of slop casey, but what he is referring to is you can move the spindles up and down within the carriers quite considerably, and not something related to wear

yes there is a considerable ammount of up and down movement between these parts so much so its like extra droop when lifting the front of the car if u understand, the buggy has only seen a few gallon if even that , u can hear the click, click when u lift the front end up and down as the spindle lifts and drops on the spindle carrier

That is one of the areas that I shimmed. I even shimmed from the top to make sure the weight was kept towards the bottom. As I stated, the whole car was shimmed and didn't work nearly as well.
If you think it's causing issues you could shim around the king pins and check your lap times at your local track.
If you find any advantage/disadvantage post here so that we can all know the results. Good luck!!!:)

Slop is your friend.....leave it that way.:)
there's such thing as excessive slop...but its a feel thing.....hold 1 link and trace it back to the next link..hold that and feel to the next....when you add it all up its a lot of slop...but overall parts need it to be there or thing's are twitchy and dont feel right.
