XXX-SCT Speedo has no reverse

I raced my new XXX-SCT that I purchased at my local hobby shop last friday last Saturday box stock with no problems. This thing handles great right out of the box. The next day I put in a Tekin RS Pro and 17.5, once again it ran great! I re-installed the stock speedo today so I race this weekend in our local Spec Short Course class, but now it has no reverse. I thought it might have been my radio, so tried it with the stock radio, still no reverse. I put in a Traxxas XL-5 thinking it might be the motor, but it now has brakes.

What do I need to do to get this resolved?

Did you read your manual?

Make sure it is setup for reverse.

"Selecting Speed Controller Modes
To change modes on your MSC-12L hold the setup key for over
5 seconds while in neutral. Once you find desired mode, simply release
the key and you are ready for action.
Forward/Reverse mode—Solid Green LED
Forward Only mode—Fast Flashing Green LED
Practice mode—Slow Flashing Green LED
Crawler mode*—Solid Green and Red LED"

Also understand you need to hit the brakes twice to get it in reverse. This is done so you have brakes for normal running and don't put the truck in reverse on accident going full speed!
