Hey Losi,
why no more on road kits?
How about you do what it takes to put together a xxx-s inspired vta bnd kit? Thats gotta be a good seller.
WILL LOSI REPLY?

VTA, for real? A car for 5% of the onroad market, with the onroad market only being 10% of the hobby? And a B-n-D at that? LOL - come on man. :D
Geez, why so negative all the time. VTA is one of the most popular classes in my area. Guess it's different where you are. Bumpkin living in the mountains of Tennessee?

Again, just because VTA is popular in the backwoods of Canada - when you're not moose or seal hunting - doesn't mean it makes sense or justify it enough for them to bring out a new car for one single slow as molasses class. It's kinda like opening a nudie bar for fat chicks.
Well, you must agree that VTA is an excellent way to introduce new people to this great hobby. Doesn't cost that much and the competition isn't as serious as some touring car classes. As for the "backwoods of Canada" the area of Southwestern Ontario where I reside is now called the new Silicon Valley, home to many hi tech companies including Research in Motion which produces the Blackberry. And, although I enjoy moose meat, I'm a little bit squeemish about clubbing baby seals.:D

VTA might be viable, if it was "actually" vintage, and thus not using (or clamoring for) modern chassis platforms - and thus more like 1:1 (real) vintage racing.
But just throwing different bodies on current touring cars is ridiculous, and just thins the field of pre-existing touring car classes.
Otherwise, other than using crap tires, it's just as expensive as any other touring car class -- and it's whole "cheap" concept went out the window when they went away from their original rules packages. Racing is racing, competition is competition, whether it be at 5mph or 50mph.
And finally, as I saw written once, VTA is about as fun and entertaining as kicking milkjugs around the track.
Oh, Blackberry is going bankrupt.
Yes, you make some good points. I tried VTA and found it was actually quite boring. The only plus is that it's a close competition as you are limited to what you can run. Therefore unlike touring cars, it's not a matter of who has the most money to spend on their little toy cars. And yes, I agree with the arguement that it's not how much you have in your car, it's more in your driving ability. I race Bajas, and the top driver at our club runs a stock 5SC and is always beating the guys with the modded out 29.5 four bolts. He's just sooooo smooth.
BTW Blackberry isn't going bankrupt, they're cutting back on their workforce but expanding their operations.

Does anyone here have any interest in racing touring cars at all? So far it doesn't seem like it.
Why not do a BND XXX-S or JRX? Theres no RnD for it the chassis has already been developed, make an appropriate lid and either form a partnership with novak or get an xcelron 21.5 power plant approved.
VTA is the on road version of short course trucks, last time I checked short course was doing pretty well pretty much everywhere.
I mean seriously, losi has absolutely no on road chassis at all

well, all bs arguing aside.
VTA is a very popular class, in my neck of the woods extremely popular in fact. we have 3 classes of vta at my local track. a 25.5 a 21.5 and a 17.5. and last time i checked every guy out there was geared to the moon and blasting around the track. the whole "vintage thing" doesnt really matter. if you look at it its just creating more fun for the people who do run nice cars. wether it be a jrx-s or a xxx-s they both are good platforms. more people around here run AE though. im losi to the bone and i dont do bad in the 25.5 class.

I wish Losi would do a re-release of the street weapon. In my area there are clubs that run strictly street/touring cars and the only name without a presence is Losi
