I bought some upgrades for my sons miniT went to put the orion baja modified motor in and the old gear doesnt fit firmly on shaft as it did the old motor. I tried it and it zipped right off.

Is there a trick to making the gear stay on shaft? Do I need another gear?

Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

You need another pinion gear. The ones supplied with the Mini-T are for 2.3mm motor shafts. Your Orion Baja motor like most competition brushed and all brushless micro motors (except the Novak Three80) use 2mm shafts.

Below are some part numbers to help you out.

LOSB1260 - Losi Pinion Gear Set, 9T-12T: Mini Vehicles
LOSB1261 - Losi Pinion Gear Set, 13T-16T: Mini Vehicles
LOSB1262 - Losi Pinion Gear Set, 17T-20T: Mini Vehicles
LOSB1263 - Losi Pinion Gear Set, 14T, 16T, 18T, 20T: Mini Vehicles

Yep 'LOSB1260 - Losi Pinion Gear Set, 9T-12T: Mini Vehicles' with the Orion Baja (aka Peak Raider) motor. Had one myself and they're plenty fast, good motor but keep an eye on the brushes as they wear fairly fast :)

Pinion depends on the track but the 9T to 12T range is where you want to be with that motor.
