hi there,
i don't know if this is going to apply to you but if it is all brand new you may need to cycle the battery buy draining it down with a low draw and recharging it completely several times.
i have had batteries that are (asleep) a need to be broken in as it seems to get them to give out full power. then the same battery after being left alone for a few months went back to sleep and needed to re cycled to wake up.
this being said if this has happened all of a sudden or was ok then started this it might be another problem.
the blinking red light usualy means low voltage protection, meaning your battery volts dropped to low when asking for power, try another battery to quickly see if it is that or cycle it if you only have the one.
this is just a thought i don't have the truck so i have to ask... pinion gear mesh for both motors, resistance to rolling in the drive train, is the anything hot when the truck stops.

the stock esc has a low voltage and thermal shut down feature. you most likely have the motor over-geared resulting in the esc getting hot. it will then shut itself off for approx. 30 sec to allow for cooling. consider using smaller pinion gears.
your battery voltage may be dropping too low.
