Hey there,

Im about fed up with the **** brakes on this LOsi XXL MT as the outdrive squared cup that is shaped to fit inbetween the brake pads keeps moving and will not stay between the disc for nothing. So in otherwords I get the outdrive cup reset and run it. The brakes work great while the cup stays inbetween the brake disc, but then after a few minutes of running I will hear a click of the cup popping out from between the brake disc and wallah no stopping the truck. I have talked to others who say this is very common in the XXL but for some reason I cant get the outdrive cup to stay in place. If you look inside the hole of where the grubscrew goes on the cup and spin the tires you can see what looks like a flat spot with a little raised ending to it on the center shaft inside the cup. I have been told that if its not just right it will keep releasing and unscrewing during driving and then of course the cup goes sliding out. Thats the best I can describe the situation and I hope someone has a fix. Thanks fellaz!!!:D

Haha. I've has this same issue with my xxl every 5min no lie. To get this fixed all you need to do is line your breaks up with eachother now this can be a pain but when you get them aligned the shaft will fall back into place in the break pads. Do you have blue lock tight if no go get some because you'll need to do this with both shaft screws because the rear will POP out too. It's a easy fix if it does POP out. Now when you do get the shaft back into the breaks spin the back tires until you see a flat spot on the shaft take your Allen screw put some lock tight and tighten it up. If your using that crappy Allen key get rid of it and go get you a good set of Allen screw drivers because in order to get it tight you'll need a good set because that Allen key can't tighten it up all the way to were it needs to be to stay on there. After you do this let it sit for two hours to let the lock tight take hold. Hope this helps and good luck. I can say this its a tough and awesome truck......

Yeah I seen the flat spot but also notice if you look real hard what looks like a little raised piece at the end of the flat spot the screw is suppose to lock onto. If you have a pic on how deep you have that grub screw buried that would be awsome. Thanks!!!

There you go its not in there far but I've had some huge crashes on the front and its still in there. Here's a little clue if you don't all ready know when jumping try not to give it any throttle because it will POP that screw out of the shaft when landing. The Allen screw has a tip on it that goes on the flat spot like i said get you a good set of Allen screw drivers because that's the only way to get it as tight as it needs to be.. hope this helps and good luck and have fun...:D

P.s if you need any more help or pics let me know I'll take some more and post them here so you can see what's what.....

No problem buddy. Make sure you let the truck sit for two hours. If the blue lock tight don't hold I would suggest the red it's stronger but a lil harder to break free but it will hold strong. Let me know if you need anything ease. One more thing does your shaft were the break goes look like mine because its kinda hard to get the shaft through both breaks. Look on the pic and look at that notch and see if your match up were mine is. One other way to tell if yours is in there all the way is turn the truck and remote on and give it a push and hit the breaks if you hear like a grinding noise you need to align both breaks. Once again I hope this don't confuse you and If you need anything else let me know......:D

P.s something with a lot of hills and jumps the truck loves that and it can take a betting like a red head step child lol. Now go out there and have a blast and be safe..

Yeah its in there right now. Before it wasnt all the way in it would make grinding noises when rolling the truck forward. Im letting it sit overnight with blue loctite. if for some reason it comes out again I have some HPI Red Racing Loctite that will go on there next round. Im thinking it will stop sliding out now though. Thanks again man!!

Hey Doug E Fresh,

Just curious where you picked up your proline body? I definitely wouldnt mind getting a nice model body for when she's on display in my room here. I have 1 blue and 1 red stock body and the red is my bashing body for the moment while the blue is for looks. Ohh yeah Im thinking about shiot canning this stock exaust for a nice polished aluminum one, whats the good word for what type to get for more power and a better tuned sound, if you happen to know. Thanks bro....

Pipes I have no clue about them. The pipe that's on there is a tuned pipe just for that motor. I know this tho they make that same pipe in crome :D.. I got my f650 off of pro lines web sight.. WWW.pro'line.com. it was about thirty dollars after shipping and it looks very nice on that truck. Ooo if your wanting to change rims like me millzee have me this sight you can go on and order 17mm hexes for the losi xxl. That opens up just about every rim choice out there not unless you Like the rims and tires that are on there. I just order my 17mm hex for my truck with a set of mounted and glued proline teck 5 rims with proline trincher tires. I love the look of that combo rim and tire that and I want a black set of rims lol.. let me know if you need anything ealse ok rcguy I'll be more than glad to help....:D

P.s I think there's a thread on nitro off road someone was asking the sane thing about different pipes for the 454 I would look up on that..

one more thing while I'm thinking about it why not get a turbo head for the motor the head is a lot better than stock or so I heard and the plug lasts a **** of a lot longer. They say it gives the 454 a smoother idle and more low end and a lil more high end power. Not to mention longer run times and we all want longer run times right... I would get that over a pipe besides the pipe that's on the truck Is designed for that motor so I don't think there is a better pipe out there not unless you wanting to spend 130 on a pipe lol.....
