this is my first post. I am just wondering what all upgrades every1 did to there Mini T RTR trucks. When I got mine a friend gave it to me. All it had was the stock esc/rec setup no motor or steering servo. I used a Tamyia ESC, a 400 mini rc plane brushed motor, a hitc mini servo, and a futaba mini rec. I have a 3000mah 4 cell nimh battery back. I have never clocked it to see how fast it will run but it will stand on the back tires from a dead stop. I get good lap times at my local RC track. This truck is a bast to drive and race. Well Hope to hear what every one else is using in there Mini T RTR's.

Oh man these tonnes you can do to them. First thing is to upgrade to Mini-T Pro specification, then fit brushless and LiPos. There's some nice pics and info of mine on my web site at www.mini-jt.co.uk (http://www.mini-jt.co.uk) :)

What kinda issues are you having with your Hitec servo ?
I must confess I've never stripped one but they can go a little crazy if you run them at a higher frame rate if you've got a posh transmitter with this feature.
I'd get one of the newer improved Hitec HS-5055 if you can. Metal geared and digital so fixes all the faults with the older plastic geared analogue HS-55 :) Running a receiver capacitor can also help if your brushless system is starving the servo of power !

no I am not running brushless and yes I have the older hitec HS-55 plastic geared servo. I am wanting to get a new metal geared servo for it. then get a brushless system for it. I will keep ya posted on how everything goes.....

Hey JT my servo finally gave out. I am going to order a new 1 and a servo saver here in the next few days I am hoping to anyway. another hitec servo and I found a real nice servo saver total cost is $15 total for both. so not to bad. well will be waiting on ur reply

Nice, you know that you can use the Losi Mini-T Hitec servo saver with both the HiTec HS-55 and HS-5055 as well. I've always used this servo saver and never had any grumbles with it.
I'm pretty happy with my electrics set-up at the moment in the Mini-T Pro. Hitec HS-5055 digital servo, Losi Xcelorin ESC (with Deans batter connectors fitted), Losi 6000Kv brushless motor, Spektrum Micro receiver and diddy 7.4v 800mAh aircraft LiPos to keep the weight down for racing :)

Three paths to performance upgrade:
1. Cheapest - Just add a Venom Fireball 370p motor for $8 and you'll get better performance.
2. Middle Ground - Go with above and add a 2s Hobby City lipo ($12) and a LVC ($20) or LVA ($5) and you'll have a great setup. You may want to upgrade the electronics (see below).
32. Fastest - EZRun 7800kv/25a brushless combo ($45), Hitec HS-55 servo with Losi Servo Saver ($20), GPM tierods ($12), GPM shocks ($15), Pro-Pulse All-Terrain tires ($1), Traxxas TQ AM rx/tx ($20), HobbyCity 2s lipo ($12)

What about a lrp modified micro instead of a Venom? Would that be a better option?
