Personal Transponders?

Does anyone know what personal transponders will work with the AMB Counting system? Only the AMB ones or will others work? I've seen ads for counting systems say they will work with any transponder I just can't remember what brand. And I'm thinking if there's compatibility there... Is a transponder just a transponder?

No sir, not all transponders are the same. AMB and AMB20 are the popular systems with AMB being the newer of the two (I believe). The MyLaps transponders emulate AMB and some have numbers on them that are changable. Let's say that your track runs an AMB system. You have an AMB transponder on one of your vehicles with it's own number. Then you can get the MyLaps one with a changable code and you can change it to the same number. This helps eliminate a lil confusion at the track but not neccessary. I hope someone else chimes in to make sure I'm not giving you bad info.:rolleyes:
After checking it out, it's the MRT PTX transponders that you can change the code on.
