Ok so I've been on other forums. Trying to get the best answer about the xxl. Most people said losi is junk and they put cheap parts on there rc's. Well I went last week to my local hobby shop and put some money down on the xxl well today I went and put 400 on it. I got to look at it and I will say this that truck doesn't look cheap at all if that truck is cheap I wonder what other truck iare considered ?????

I think Losi puts out some quality stuff and has over the years. I have used their products as well as Associated and other vendors and they are basically a coin flip as to which I would use. Just got me a Losi L8ight Late Model Oval Car and am very happy with its performance..

Yea its been a coin toss in-between the xxl and the xl. After much though I went for the xxl because so many people had bad to say about the xl and most of them said the losi is the better of both worlds a good racer and a good basher. so next week ill be a owner of a new xxl. Ooo the truck is a lot bigger than I thought it was........

Yea I just got mine Thursday. I will say this the body dosent look as bad ad I thought but mines blue. I love the rims and tires also it makes the look mean. Also the body is hella thick me and my mom and dad can't cut out the window because the window is so thick. I never had that problem with my rc10. Let me ask you guys this I was reading the break in part of the book and it said you can run two tanks for break in or three if you drive it what is better and easier for the truck. Also it says after break in the truck won't shift into second until the fifth or sixth tank is this true?? If so please let me know. Thanks to all for the help

I had to put about 7-9 tanks through b4 temps settled down a bit, just take it easy on the trigger for the first 5-6 tanks.

Thanks I plain on running three tanks through it for safe measures for break in. All I have been thinking is payday so I can go get fuel for it and a different glow plug inightior and some more glow plugs to be on the safe side....

Break in can be a pain but just stick with and take your time cuz if you do you will have a motor that runs good for long time. I did 7-8 tanks of break in b4 i was a lil hard on the truck I run blue thunder 20% in mine and it runs good

Did you drive it through the seven or eight tanks or idle through. I'm going to do three idle and pro and three more driving. Do you think if I follow the book about the driving it it will hurt it... I want to know also the best stories about the lst lst2 xxl and even the aftershock owners about hoe much you love you trucks and hoe you use them...... Thanks to all

just drive through each tank, I'm no expert, I just google searched " how to break in a nitro rc engine" and did lots of reading.
From what I read the first few tanks should be driving figue 8's or oval patterns at about 1/4throttle, taking off with ease in a smooth motion. Next few tanks taking off the same and increasing throttle to about 1/2 and then increase your throttle a little more with each tank until you've used about 8-9 tanks and now reaching full throttle(WOT) and hitting 2nd gear, don't hold at WOT for extended periods until you've put about 4 litres/ a gallon through it.
Be carefull with your temps and don't rely only on the tele temp sensor as it can be out by a far bit, get yourself a temp gun and you'll never have too many hassles. keep your temps somewhere around 190-220f (88-110c), I found mine 454 likes to run best at around 110-130c. When you start your breakin get the engine up to temp and shut if off and let it cool down for 5-10min with to piston at the bottom of the engine case(BDC bottom dead centre). Have fun and good luck, just take your time as this is most crucial step to ensure your engine gives you the most joy in the future.
P.S. Im no expert, google it and read up for yourself, the more knowledge you can get the better off you'll be.

So I think that is what I'm going to do is drive it through the break in. A lot of people said its the best for it. Let me ask you this tho should I do the cool down period after letting it run for three min and do this for fifteen min all together and the do it for 4 min in fifteen increments. Let me know please because people on Google said diffent.... thanks to all

my preference is associated, losi and hpi vehicles. if you want junk buy a traxxas, i just traded off a vxl roller that was only a month old because the brushless failed 2 weeks after i got it and traxxs was not honoring my warranty on the esc and i was hung up on by some of the customer service people when i called. you would think that since i am only 1.5 hours away and could actually drive to them and tell them off if needed they wouldnt treat me so bad.

whatever you choose just make sure it isnt traxxas junk ;)

Who ever said losi is juck must be having a bad day. Anything will be junk if you don't respect its limits. I have seen people take a $800 buggy and jump a huge jump end up nose diving or hitting a wall and it breaks several parts, does that mean that the parts were cheap? No it means that it was wrecked hard enough to break.
