Welcome to the club, I just picked one up several weeks ago myself. I know Losi has alluminum hop-up parts listed

Losi Strike Hop-Ups (http://www.losipartshouse.com/servlet/the-Losi-Parts-House-cln-Losi-Parts-By-Car-cln-Losi-1-fdsh-10-Strike-SCT-cln-Hop-Ups-%26-Accessories/Categories)

I haven't bought any myself, as I will wait till things break before I start upgrading. I have how ever upgraded to a Mamba Max Pro 4600kv, and boy is it ever crazy fast with just the stock gearing. Between the Mamba and the 2s 6000mah Lipo Im good for almost an hour run time.

Best hop up for the Strike is selling it and buying a Slash/Blitz/SC10.

NO WAY!!!
Even if you get a bad strike. The money you spend on up-grades puts you spending lower on this car then any of the others and you end up with a way better car.
Only problem i have ever had to spend money on to get fixed has been the front turn buckles and i only spend 6$ for some great ones.

I dont understand, Strikes were roughly the same-if not more, price as the Slashs, blitz's, etc.

I never saw a "good" Strike at our club, although I guess there must be some out there somewhere. I'll agree, before I gave up on the Strike, I was able to go fast with it, but going fast for half a race and DNF'ing doesn't really win many trophies.

If it was just the poorly designed frontend setup, I might somewhat agree, but the transmission troubles mine faces are too much to cheaply "hopup".

I got my strike for 117$ on ebay. RTR.

Cheapest slash is 350$RTR- i was going to get a rolling chassis, 160$ but i still needed a body and a servo

I had a existing motor/esc controller/receiver so i sold the Stock ones and made 80$ So basically i spent 37$ on my strike which is almost all new.

I bought new tie-rods (6$)Balldiff(28$) and a steel gear(15$) also sway bars(20$)
Losi sent me new tie-rods(which i use a back up) Shock ends, new servo and another idle gear for nothing.

$229 RTR, New and not cursed with breakage.

I understand the Strikes are going very cheap on Ebay and similar because of the problems they have.

I still have my Strike, and I did the same as you- Tie Rods, Yes, might be $6 a package, but they will still break/bend. Stock driveshafts are junk. Output drives are unhardened and fail in short time, and Transmission gears strip. I've tried plastic Idler, Alum Idler, Plastic Diff gear, Steel diff gear, all combinations have failed. Balldiffs were on backorder/unavailable last fall when I was still trying to keep my Strike in working order.

You also about have to replace the radio, because the stock one isn't very good-stalls on start/stops often.

A $200 Slash that doesnt break is a **** of a bargain compared to how much I've spent to keep the Strike running.

My strike has only broke one front turnbuckle and rear hub, and I ran mine all winter and this summer, I put in CV's, ball diff, 13.5 excellorin system, made custom sway bars split six rims, some bow ties and fliped the front shock to the rear of the tower. my truck kicks some butt. Definetly holds its own against slash 2 or 4 wheel, sc10s,and blits.
