I think this is a great weak point when mislanding bigger jumps but three in one day is to many for me! I'm running the yellow 7.4lb springs with 50wt oil in the rear and 40wt in the front, should I go to a heavier weight or am I doing something else wrong? I was at a bmx track and finally had the truck running the sweetest it's ran since breaking it in,( I've had it for less than one month ) and I was making some reasonable size jumps, as I grew more confident, the jumps got bigger and I had a few hard mislandings causing the diff outdrives to snap. Apart from becomming a better driver, does anyone have any suggestion?

Hey guys, first post here.

I was gonna start a thread to ask a question, but I think this thread is covering what I need.

I have the 1/8 scale Raminator Nitro Truck. When I first took it out, I tightened the slipper clutch on accident and never loosened it. After 2 tanks of gas the rear end went out and I only had front wheel drive. When I hold the truck up and spin the back wheels, the driveshaft spins all the way to the transmission. I'm wondering how difficult of a fix this is? Do I need to replace the whole transmission or is it just a gear inside I can swap out?

I run msr6 shocks with 17.5 wt oil!! I jump off skateboard jumps ten feet high in the air! Sounds like you have to "stiff" of oil to me.I even went back to the light duty chrome springs.I had the yellows & some special orange integies,I just use what works for me.Good luck.......ACE

If I broke the CV joints, the driveshaft that goes into the transmission wouldn't spin when I turn the tires would it?

Sounds like grub screw possibly on driveshaft!;)

Yes... the "drive shaft" coming from the trans to the diff would spin if you broke an axle/cvd..etc. Gotta understand how the power is transfered.

mrsmartjohnson is right though.. if the set screw on the out drive comes lose the shaft will spin and you won't get any power to the diff.

I have also seen the grub screw on the outdrive be just tight enough to turn the wheels when you pick it up, but when you put in back on the ground with weight it will slip! You have to really make sure the grub screw is in the cupped out section and goes all the way in and then threadlock it! Don't ask me how I know, as it looked good but wasn't responding and drove me NUTS for a while:confused::mad: At least I know the symptoms Now:D

Thanks! I ended up starting my own thread and someone else suggested that. That was the prob and I put locktight on it and tightened it down. I'm up and running again!

My aftershock did the same thing last week,or I thought it did until I realized I lost the set screw out of the driveshaft

I find that when you rc you have to be ready to modify things, with that being said every vehicle produced in a ready to run package always has week points and you can either spend with the company you bought the vehicle from or you can buy the strongest and sometimes the opponites parts, you may need to make things work together, ofna has some really beefy diff joints in its ulta line,I own one it will also upgrade your wheel hubs to a more common hex size, but I'm a fabricator in my day job so I enjoy using the dremmel. If you look you will see after market is always better and most times cheaper than opening the manual and ordering the same factory part over and over again
