I just bought the LNC and learning alot of ideas but one thing i was told to do was to pull out a shim out of each side of the worm side. i have did so and it seamed like it was to much slop so i put it back together. I was told it would run cooler but it didnt. do any buddy have done this and had good resolts ?

The LNC does not have the extra shims. This was only on some of the LCC's, not all.
Just make sure to keep the worms greased. Probably want to grease them after every 4-5 hours of runtime. I had about 10 hours of runtime on mine before I first greased them and there wasn't much grease left at all. I use Lucas Red n' Tacky in my worms.

I have to tare my diffs down and re-grease them, just wondering if any one has drilled holes in them next to the gears to add new grease? I bought the thumb screws but wanted to ask before I did it. Where exactly do you drill?

Here is a pic of where you need to drill. This is not my rig, I also used a thumb screw rather than a regular screw. Just be sure when you drill and tap it, tap it a size smaller than the screw and let the screw cut the threads to the correct size otherwise the screw will not stay tight. Also, be sure to not tighten the screw in too far or it will contact the worms.

What size of screw would anyone suggest and how does one apply the grease? What tool is used to apply? I have the CKRC OTA steering kit. I would think the thumbscrew would now get in the way of the improved approach angle (I have scratches on the front of my axle I could have never made with the conventional assembly). I think I'll use a buttonhead screw.

Can't remember what size screw I used. To apply the grease, I bought a grease needle that goes on the end of a regular grease gun. I got the needle at Tractor Supply but pretty sure most auto parts stores should have it. It just looks like a very large hypodermic needle a doctor would use.
I haven't had any issues with mine catching on anything so it shouldn't hurt approach angle at all.
I'll get a couple pics of mine in a few and post them up.

I took both diff apart and cleaned out old grease and put in new, they both looked perfect. Whille I had it apart I drilled them both just like the picture, drilling them will save alot of time. I used a 8-32x3/16 set screw, looks good. Thanks for the info.
