The latest version of the Xcelorin Setup Software, Version 3.0, is available for download for free at http://www.losi.com/Content/Support/Xcelorin%20files/Xcelorin%20Setup%20Program/Setup%20Software%20V3.0/SetupV3.exe. This version allows 8th scale users to select low and medium initial acceleration and is compatible with features of some forthcoming releases from Xcelorin. Make sure you uninstall any old versions of this software prior to installing the new one. Note that this version is compatible with Windows operating system, preferably Windows XP or higher. It is NOT compatible with Vista 64-bit.

It will not install the USB driver, the only options it gives is to have windows look for it . or install it manually. Neither work.

I've tried to install it in windows 7 rc in 64 bit and it will not install the usb drivers properly. Software installs ok, just cannot communicate with the usb dongle.
Seems to work fine in 32 bit xp tho, will try it in 64 bit xp system and on 32 bit windows 7 rc and advise.
Only issue i have is it seems to not like to maintain my settings after i change profiles on the esc. Like i set profile 1 for use with 7.2volt ni/mh stik packs, profile 2 to 3 cell lipo, and profile 3 to 2 cell lipo. didnt mess with profiles 4 or 5 yet but when i came back around to profile 1 again and checked its settings had returned to the default settings. Will check further.

It worked on the 32 bit version of vista. Really should consider supporting 64 bit though. everyone else does now. Especially when 64 bit is becoming the norm these days.

Does not work on 64 bit version of Windows 7. Losi software installs but drivers are not compatible.

Since the drivers are not certified (and not correct) there is a problem installing them if you're not installing them with the Local Admin account. It's not the same as running as Admin or adding your Vista Home account as Admin, you really need to be local admin on your computer.
One way to solve this is starting the computer i failsafe mode and log on as admin. If you dont see an admin account, you need to activate it. Here's how:
Logon to Vista using your usual account.
Launch the cmd prompt - Make sure you select, 'Run as administrator'
Net user administrator password
(exhange password with your admin password selected when Vista was installd)
Net user administrator /active:yes
Restart and log on as admin.
If this doesn't work, start in failsafe mode and log on as Admin and install the software. Remember to always uninstall previous version before you install it again.

I have the same problem. I think a work around would be to change all the profiles to 4S and just run 4s. Or at least change the defualt to the battery size you use. You would also have to setup rev or not in that main defualt that it keeps going back to.
Maybe there is something were missing, something that really enables it to stay in the mode you want.

When will there be a version that supports 64-bit of Xcelorin software ? I only have one computer and that one has Windows 7 64-bit. As x64 seems to be the standard for all new computers I am somewhat surprised that there isn't already a version that supports it.
Please give me an indication when we can expect a 64-bit version.

Just downloaded the new setup software onto my laptop for a friend. While installing, AVG caught the virus win32/Fujacks. Don't know if this has affected anyone else but I'm just putting it out there as an FYI.

you can try opening up the avg interface and right clicking on the resident shield and then unchecking the box for "resident shield active." It will display a fault but once you uninstall and redownload the software you can just re-check the box and youre good to go

that is what I had to do to get it installed on my new lap top. but I still can use it cause I have not been able to find a driver for the usb so that i can connect to the ESC. when i called tech support the guy on the other end said that i need to go to microsoft and down load the driver, but I don't know which one and I'm not going to load my computer up with a bunch of things I will never use. PLEASE dont get me wrong. I LOVE losi. my 8T, 8B2.0, LCC, and Micro Crawler, and my Tamiya drifter with the Xcelorin 4800kv system all on Spectrum DX3S have been great to me and the product support is top notch. but the problem with the Xcelorin software is getting to me. that is why i went with another brushless set up in the LCC, and I'm really thinking about getting a different set up for the drifter..... I don't know much about getting around problems with the computer, call me stupid but I would rather pay someone to build a setup that is truly plug and play..... so that I can play with a vehicle that runs the way I want it to, not BSing with a computer. Just my 2 cents. I will keep looking and trying the new downloads. and driving the Losi's that I can't get enough of.
sorry this turned into a bit of a rant, but the frustration is beginning to show!

What OS are you using?
From the opening post:
"Note that this version is compatible with Windows operating system, preferably Windows XP or higher. It is NOT compatible with Vista 64-bit."
The USB drivers from from the losi software install but are only verified to work on 32bit machines.

its a gateway with windows 7 bought from best buy on Dec. 13, 09. i dont know how to find out if it is a 32 or 64 bit, but all of the information in the system menus leads me to believe this is a 64bit machine. The Losi version that I have is 3.0 down loaded maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. I have not tried since then.

I don't think they make a 32 bit Windows 7 machine?

Vista basic on one, Vista home prem on two, Win XP on another... I ended up getting the program installed but couldt get the light on the dongle to turn green... i must be a conflict with one of my programs:confused:
Took it back to the shop and they got the green light but when hooking up the speedy found it is displaying the wrong lights and they said appears faulty... still today im waiting to use my LCC/Excelorin:mad: anyway after feeling bent over by it all i give up and bought a novak goat 3s combo so i can avoid the computer side of it all, it should be here this week comming

that's a bummer.
maybe I'll install it on my wife's computer. maybe she wont mind. lol
really though; I have not hada single problem with my esc or motor and i dont change the profile very much, (just to change it to protect my lipos) so I'll use the card. but it would be nice to have the ability to adjust the curves and play with the settings.

any update on this yet? It's getting rather irritating, having to wait such a long time... 64bit OS has been around for a very long time now, and we still can't download the correct drivers for the USB thingy :(

simple enough to determine if it is 32 or 64 bit O/S. here is what you do:
click start (windows logo on lower left corner)
click control panel
click system and security
click system
look under system
if it is a 64 bit O/S it will say
System type: 64-bit Operating System
if it is a 64 bit os otherwise it is an 32 bit os.

right click on computer on your desktop, left click on properties in win 7 (and vista i believe). will pop up system properties including operating system version
or click on start, right click on computer, left click on properties, same window as above.
32 bit versions seem to work fine, 64 bit versions are not registering usb drivers.
yes they make a 32 bit version of win 7, and of all variety's as a matter of fact!
have fun, enjoy
