i bought an xcelorin 7500kv sensorless brushless about a month and a half ago. ive been using nimh batteries. when i got the system i was running 6 cells and it ran ok. now on the same batteries it cuts power to the rx and is very under powered. im wondering if im going to have to go lipo to run this system. id rather not do that. my buddy has the same size motor and bought a 2s lipo. that solved his problem. his highroller ran 65mph!! any and all advice here would be great. i really dont wana have to buy lipo.

Lipo batteries are lighter and provide more power then nimh batteries. When was the last time you balanced your nimh cells? If you don't take care of them you can get them out of sync and loose performance. You could have lost a cell as well which will greatly reduce power. Put a volt meter on each cell to make sure they all have about the same voltage. Going lipo is an expensive move but well worth it. The batteries last longer and give more performance.

what lipo battery brand would you recomend? and what would be a good quality not so expensive charger and balancer? everything ive looked at so far is above my budget or what im wanting to spend anyway. i do have one battery that i know for a fact lost a cell and yea there was a drastic loss of power. to be honest i didnt know you had to balance nimh. im still pretty new to hobby grade rc. i guess now i have to ask how you balance a nimh battery pack. my packs all have battery shrink from the factory.
