I can't remember the last time I've been this excited for a new R/C car. Unfortunatley, every place I went to was backordered. My local hobbytown has two coming in next week Friday so I purchased one of them.
I'm so stoked for this truck...it seems awesome from all the reviews! Anyone have any suggestions for me on upgrades or general advice?
Thanks in advance. :)

Look we've all gripped Me included about the one way bearing on the ROSS system, but tonight I finally got to really put my truck to a full race night and I liked what I saw.
This truck is quick, even running with 8's, and handles well on the track.
The OWB seems to be the trouble, and like the new truck it's hard to get.
I swapped to the spin start rear plate ( see the speed nt for part # and the S/S rod) and I use a drill to start mine.
Hopefully you got the new batch and will not have the OWB issues.

I would have a couple backup of spare spur gears and make sure you locktite all of the engine screws. The only other thing I have had problems with were the ROSS gears. I think the ROSS is great, expecially for the first couple of starts. Its a sweet truggy. Mine is out of comission because I have stripped 2 spur gears in a row... I don't know how....
Everything else seems to hold up fine.
Have fun!

Sgt. Are you setting the clearance on your spur gear with a piece of note book paper?

guys
my advice is to preheat your engine before starting to relieve the pinch and to reduce stress on the R.O.S.S. and also the one way bearing (OWB).
i am guessing cold starts are detrimental to durability of the R.O.S.S. esp during it's early days.

Well, I've been reading up on the OWB issues. Hopefully I don't have one with problems but if I do I'll deal with it.
Is there an updated OWB that Losi came out with? From my research here I never saw whether or not Losi admitted there was an issue.

that and giving it a good eyeball and spin test to check for clearance/binding.

I have to say that I truly enjoy my Ten-T.
I have a few extra parts just in case of failure
I am on the second gallon of fuel and no signs of wear or lose of spur gear.
It starts everytime without effort. It performs very well and its a lot of fun.
Here is a site that I ran across that has Ten-T's in stock and parts.

Im sure you will enjoy it....me i have had 0 problems with mine other than a broken wing mount.....and im surprised nothing has broken on mine other than that broken mount, and that broke after the second time at the track. Now when i went to the track it was my first time in like 6 years at a track, so now the first day at the track....i beat the SHIZAAAA out of my ten-t rolling it hundreds of times ...literally and hard ones at that....and the second time i was finally getting the hang of it and only rolled a couple times and thats when the mount had enough and broke.
...but i would say just make sure you break the engine in properly and always make sure your battery is charged (not from the wall charger if possible)
and if you need parts and your LHS cant get them id say order from Horizon , i ordered some misc parts from there and they were at my house within 3 days
drive it like you stole it

Cool. I'm glad there are people out there that like this truck. My LHS would stock about 2 or 3 at a time and would sell out the day they put them out. Everyone came back saying it was the best R/C they've owned.
Hopefully I have mine on the 30th (that's the scheduled ship date, but I'm not holding my breath!)

I love my ten, but I hate the ross. Have had nothing but issues with it since i got the truck 3 months ago.

Well I guess it's pretty new technology. Seems to be the way it goes with everything that's new nowadays.

That's the problem and reason people have been PO'ed, it's not new tech. Traxxas has been doing it for ages w/ no problems.
ROSS/OWB issues aside it's an awesome little truck. Goes like snot and handles great.
And yes, paintmaster please post a pic of your hole. I've been considering doing that but I usually run in such sandy/nasty conditions I haven't. There's no where to race where I live so I'm a straight up basher.

That's true...I have a Jato 3.3 with EZStart so I should have known that.
Really the only difference is that it's push button start and not from an EZStart wand.
That brings up another story. I hear the battery that powers the ROSS also powers the servo and receiver. Is it true its a 1000mah battery? Have any of you guys experienced issues from this and upgraded to a diff battery?

I guess you could put some kind of rubber plug in the hole to keep dirt out.

So just an update on my situation. I'm still waiting for Hobbytown to receive my ten-t. It was due in on April 30th but I don't think they knew it's been on backorder. Horizon finally updated the date to next week Tuesday (May 11th). Exactly what I was afraid of...
I wonder if Losi temporarily halted production of the Ten-T to fix the ROSS/OWB issues? Looks like most places finally have the truck back in stock. Anyone with info?
