Hey all! Well, it STARTED as a Desert Truck. I replaced the tranny with that from a XXXT-CR, teh servo is now a Futaba BLS 451, and the power plant is a Tekin RSPro 8.5. I had to modify the chassis a bit to fit in the batteries....a pair of A123 systems 9.9v 2300mah packs wire in parallel for 4600mah. I then swapped the shoes for some SmasherXL's. So far the broken parts list is pretty short...just a pair of shock ends and a thouroughly thrashed body. It's bordering on uncontrollable! BUT FUN! Next upgrade is going to be a FASST system from my 3PK then a custom carbon fiber chassis. (having an 8-axis mill and PRO Engineer Wildfire at home is dangerous!) (but fun)

Darn TOOTIN man! I got into RC back in '83...I was 13...it was a Hornet. I raced for 14 yrs. YZ-10, JRXPro-SE, XX-CR, XXX, XXXT MF, XX-4, Ralley Weapon. Loved them all. Most tracks in the area closed up years ago. Still raced though! got out of racing many years ago as the attitudes of racers was poor (smaching $300 transmitters onto concrete floor because their driving was poor...racers running cheater armatures in stock class...racers throwing their cars into walls due to poor driving and the worst, fathers teaching their sons how to hack and get away with it) I went back to the basics. I always raced for the mere fun of it. It really upset a lot of racers that I never took it as seriously as them. I would place 2nd-4th routinely in my class and didn't care if I came in last. I tuned my motors myself, got 20k rpm at 4v out of a Revenge of the Monster stock when they came out....reliably and consistantly without grenading!
Still I prefere bashing. I am looking to get back into competition this winter. My local hobby shop has a track in teh back and they're looking at making a crawler track. If they do, I am getting a comp crawler. Just wish it came as a kit. I love building...not rebuilding!
And yes...it's about FUN...nothing more....nothing less!

Tearing the beqast apart this weekend....so far the damage report is minimal! I am replacing the stock diff and idler gear with Robinson hardened steel and aluminum respectively....just to be safe. Rebuilding the shocks with heavier oil and springs....it's to squirmy right now....hard to drive!

Those are Losi Spokz. The tires are ShasherXL's. You can get them pre-mounted or unmounted.
