New to the RC world & just getting my feet wet ! I've been racing a losi late model and just started this year on my buddies dirt oval, it's like Bristol race track ! I've gone through a couple steering servo's already! I've pulled apart both and the second one i believe is just a gear issue but i can't find a parts explosion any where on the web to be able to put it back together correctly! The gears on the one pin that is mounted to the top cover is the ones i'm talking about!! Any stronger servo's that will hold up better then the ones Losi gives you!! I've gotten better each race day but crashing is inevitable!!! Any help would be appreciated, thanks Andy

There are tons of full metal gear servo's out there. What are you willing to spend? JR makes a great line of servo's. Spektrum is about to release a line of servo's with a few of them looking real promising for surface cars as well. Most good Metal gear servos will run you about $80+. Hitec's can be found for less money but lets just say you get what you pay for. Lots of poeple have had good luck with them but....

Slap a Hitec 7955 in there and Forget about servo issues FOREVER....and when you upgrade to a 1/8 you have a Bomb Proof Steering servo.....I would Not recommend the JR lineup....they may very well work fine in a 1/18 but they are not the same in the durability dept as Hitec is.....Nor is their warranty Anything like Hitec.
HITEC FOR LIFE. :)

Try a Hitec HS-55 servo and LOSB-1226 servo saver.

the HS-55 isn't even a standard sized servo...its a Micro/Mini.

I used a Hitec-55 in mine. There aren't many aftermarket mini sevos out there.

You might want to consider adding a bigger front bumper or at least a bigger right side bumper. Also check your servo saver. Some guys remove this to get quicker steering but in doing so loose the protection it offers. I have run on both carpet and smooth clay surfaces and find that the servo saver works well as long as you dont crank the steering suddenly. If all else fails Losi offers servo savers for Hi-Tec, JR, and Airtronocs mini servos.

On the RTR 1/10 Slider Sprint car are the servos strong enough to run carpet? Some locals are finding the front tires turn hard left in the middle of the turns without added steering input. They are thinking its either the servo or the servo saver is giving out with a heavy cornering load on carpet.

It was discovered this week that some of the servo savers are loose from the factory . Check them out and put some thread locker on them.
