The World finals in Donner were absolutely amazing... I hit a few gates and was 8th overall after Saturday, but came out on fire Sunday and made up a lot of points.

Parker really stepped up the courses and challenged us on Sunday. I was driving better then I ever have and my "Boss Claws" were hooking up. I jumped from 8th to 3rd on Sunday and made up a ton of points on everybody.

With a bunch of world class drivers just points behind me in the shootout, I knew I had to be perfect. I had a flawless run going until I hit the dreaded gate #6, a double-step climb on a sidehill and covered with loose dirt  I spent 3 minutes on that gate and threw everything I had at it, but the rig just wouldn't go... I took a score of 28 for the course and fell to 6th overall for the weekend. I wish I could have had another run at that gate, but with the level of talent in Donner that weekend, I'm proud to have finished where I did.

I have to say a huge thank you to Team Losi for making this all possible. Rich and Jay are amazing to work with, and Team Losi is a force to be reckoned with on the rocks. Congrats to Jay on his great finishes over the weekend! I can't wait until the next time we can ride to battle against the best in the world.

For now, I'm going to unwind a bit and take a short break from crawling. Two weeks from now I'll be making my first appearance north of the border at the Canadian Open in Ottawa 8) I've got a few more ideas to bring the Losi to the next level and I can't wait to share them with you guys. Until then... See you on the Rocks!

I'm just going to add a few pics and a link to my report I did in the other thread. http://forum.losi.com/showpost.php?p=2914&postcount=15

Awesome work Jake and Rich, this was by far the best time we've shared together since we started this Team.

Helping people at the Worlds from all mfg's is what sets us apart from the rest, so lets keep up the good work.

Here is my current set up I ran at the Worlds and all other terrain. (http://crawler.setupsheets.com/Losi-s-Comp-Crawler_Team-Driver_5895.html)

Here is a few pics of my rig doing work to end up with a podium finish. The best part is our rig is out of the box $284, and with some good wrenching and practice you too can show everyone how well the 1/10th Comp Crawler really works.

Great driving all weekend Jake. Too bad about the ledge on the finals course.

What have you done with your body Jake? I see the rear is cut out for the shocks. Is the body "tighter" around the chassis? Is it a Grappler Pro? I think it is.

It is the Grappler Pro but I out boarded my rear shocks outside of the stock location. So on the axle you put a spacer in between where the stock location is, then get a longer screw and put your shock on the outside of that.

Then on the top I spaced out the shocks to get the shocks in line again. So I cut the body around the shocks to clear them from rubbing on the inside.

Now that I've been crawling, I've realized why you cut your body at the front fenders that way. I've done the same thing, too. What advantages do you get by modifying your rear shocks that way? And do you do the same with the fronts?

Outboarding the rear shocks helps reduce body roll. The rig feels more stable with them out there. There isn't enough room in the front to outboard them though.
