What are the differences in the comp crawler and the Night Crawler? I know it's RTR and all of that. I was going to get a comp Crawler for christmas, but if they offer th Night Crawler in BND then I might get it. I need to know how close it is to the Comp crawler though. Just need to know what parts I need to make it the Comp crawler...

I dont know for sure what all the differnces are but I noticed it uses a differnt transmission (maybe same transmission just no dig). I also noticed it uses plastic links instead of aluminum. I also hope for a BND version.

I figured they would leave the dig out. If they don't do the BND then I'm going to get the Comp and build it myself. I don't compete, but I always want the better version lol. I like the lights, I will have to buy them and mount them on my Crawler whatever I get. My wife dosn't like when I get the Comp versions because she know how much I spend putting everything together. :)

Basically, it looks like a lot more plastic instead of aluminum....no dig....no hard anodizing....no theraded body shocks.....stuff like that.

This looks like a great crawler to get someone new involved in crawling.

Think youll be surprised right out of the box. With some small tweaks and tuning I think we'll see some of these box stock giving LCC owners a good battle.

but what i really want to know will the dig go into a night crawler..... im gonna build a crawler almost got the mini crawler but it wasnt quite enough for me..... the night crawler will give me the chance to play around and get use to crawlin with out spending big dollars on the comp crawler..... and if ilike it, **** yeah ill throw in a 21.5 brushless and get rid of the plastic parts..... its like what i did with my desert truck when i got into 1/10 truck racing as i got use to it i hopped it up and now my desert truck has beed turned into a xxx-t cr with a 3.5 over the last year and a half.... i love what losi does they give you alot of options to make a awesome vehicle no matter what you choose..... Lights for the Comp Crawler. Too cool. When I first got my CCR, that was one thing I thought of.

my buddy just picked up the comp crawler, and the wheels are better than the night crawler (they have alum locking rings). it looks like a good rtr but if u already have a radio then i say go for the comp as its got a lot of updated parts compared to the night crawler.:)

skid plates the same so you can build/buy a LCC tranny and bolt it in.

Can you buy the CC tranny as a single unit or do you have to piece it together from a parts list?

:mad:you will probably have to piece it together. I bought the LCC tranny, chassis and links from a guy. I was hoping to be able to buy the axles as a kit but found out from losi that they wont be offered that way. I priced out the build of the axles from pieces and it was $280 to build both with stock parts, Id hate to see the tranny price

At this point there is no plan for a BND version. The center transmission from the Comp Crawler will work, however besides all the transmission parts, you will need the center chassis braces, the battery mounting plate, receiver plate, shock arms and mounts as well as the slider drive shafts.
There seem to be quite a few Comp Crawler owners moving to the MOA option and they have spare transmissions and driveshafts, might be a good idea to keep an eye out for those being sold.

For what it's worth.....I've been running the LNC in sportsman class and it's doing quite well.
I'm running 3s with a seperate BEC and changed the pinion to a 15 tooth. Something else that helped was running a larger tire on the front than on the rear. This improved my climbing and also my turning radius. The first time after changing tires around , I placed first in my class. It was a huge jump in performance for the LNC and I hope LOSI manufactures different worm gears for shaft vehicles so the front can be overdriven. Then I won't have to run different size tires.
