My neighbors son and friend are big into monster trucks. His friend has a E-Maxx. He was unsatisfied with the top speed so off to the LHS they went. This evening when I went out my back door i find them in the driveway with two Titan 12T's submerged in water. They said the sales person at the LHS told them to hook them up to esc, and submerge in water run at half throttle for 10 minutes. And that this is the proper break in.

I was always taught to install new motor with conservative gearing. Add power gradually, working my way to full throttle. Slowing down and repeating. No hard acceleration or breaking.

I am old school and my technique could be out dated. Was hoping someone can line me out.

Thanks

I've heard of that break in method before. Should work just fine, as far as I've heard.

Both methods work well. The "water" method is what we used back in the day for breaking in sealed stock motors....wow I am suprised anyone even remembers that!
