I have the 6000kv brushless setup in a mini lst2, I have an idea for a different battery pack. The pack would be an 8 cell nimh SC size 5000mah saddle pack. I have read that the motor can handle 6-12 nimh cells, but my question is would the 5000mah SC size going to be too much for the esc, or does the esc put through whatever the motor would take, keeping the amps to below 25, as I see the esc is rated for.

basically want to keep using nimh, but want a pack that will provide significantly longer runtimes and a bit more power than the current 6 cell 1500 mah I am using.

thanks in advance

I also have an additional question that I just realized was happening. Reverse is much faster than forward throttle for some reason. I have the blue and white wires swapped because the motor was running backwards.

I have the following settings in the esc software:
Throttle limit-0%
Rev throttle limit-100%
Motor timing-normal
Initial accel-medium
Braking %-30%
% drag brake-8%

Thanks again in advance

edited the original question with a new one that is stumping me...

I realized what needed to be changed on the problem with the reverse going faster than forward speed, I flipped the throttle reverse switch on the transmitter, then changed back the wires on the motor...problem solved...

still wondering if that battery pack listed above would cause any problems, though...
