Well, I just picked up this buggy for an amazing deal so I couldn't pass it up.. I had the 1.0 when it first came out and sold it rather soon. Now I have another and I'm out of the loop. I have just some minor and quick questions for those racers here on the forum.

1- Whats the differences from the 1.0 to 2.0? And can I convert the 1.0 to the 2.0? Or at least some of the parts? If so which ones.

2. I remeber the dreaded electronics tray flexing and I assume its still present. This buggy came with the King Heads rear chassis brace and electronics plate stiffner, but neither are installed.. Should I install these, as well as the o-rings underneath?

thanks for your time!

I got the 2.0 radio tray for mine but it doesn't seem like it's any stiffer than the the previous.

I'm not saying this is the end-all be-all solution or even the proper solution, but I just removed the screw the threads into the bottom of the battery compartment and secure it with velcro instead. This takes the leverage off the radio tray when the chassis flexes. I've never blown a servo in the buggy, but I did blow up a couple in the truggy (even with the stiffener) until I did this little modification. I found the o-rings solution to be a bit of a pain when re-installing the radio tray.

It is possible to convert, but with all the little things that have changed, I bet it would cost you 3/4 the price of a new buggy to completely convert it to a true 2.0

biggest bang for your buck

longer chassis and dogbone to go with it, radio tray and 2.0 body

for 1 the chassis is longer thus a longer driveshafts, the rear diff housing has been chaged , shock towers are different, radio tray is different , (i have yet to blow a servo and i have over 5 gallons of fuel through it ! )the servo saver and spring are different , theres quite a few changes these are just a few

thanks Tommy

I kinda missed that question. There are a lot of changes that make the 2.0 the 2.0. But like I said the most noticeable changes by there self would be the chassis and body.

I run what I call a Losi 8ight 1.5. :)
I had changed most of the things that are upgraded on the 2.0 before the 2.0 was released, except for the main stuff like the chassis, tank, towers, etc.
All you need is the 2.0 chassis with a 2.0 center rear dog bone on a 1.0 to get started.
There are lots of updates to the 2.0. Make sure you see what the changes are because doing them all would cost more than buying the 2.0 kit.

I've blown my share of throttle servo's (4, mine started life as an RTR) Most blown servo's I've heard about were on the RTR version. I now haven't lost one in almost 2 years.

* The fix I was told about, was use the HZ radio tray stiffener, rubber grommets with the brass sleeves on the servo ears and washers on the screws. Don't tighten the screws completely you just want to be able to slightly move the washers.
* If you look at the outside/underneath the radio tray, you'll see the main brace next to the throttle servo. It attaches to the outside of the battery compartment and has a 45 degree angle on it. Cut (dremel) that 45 out so it's straight across (Like an I beam). Leave the front one to the receiver box alone.
* Then glue on 4 10th scale small shock o-rings to the underside of the battery tray (each corner) where it touches the chassis.
* Use 4 8/32 1/2 FH screws (no o-rings) to attach the radio tray to the chassis

Final step
MAKE SURE YOUR EPA'S ARE SET CORRECTLY AS PER LOSI ADDENDUM on the 1.0 RTR.
http://www.losi.com/ProdInfo/Files/LOS_Throttle_Addendum.pdf

(On a DX3R my brake travel it set at 60% with brake set at 65%+ on the E switch/brake button. This will depend on the servo you choose and linkage setup.)

I hope this helps you.

Wow, I never had to do that much work to get my servos to last when I had my 1.0 truggy. I simply just did away with the screw under the battery, and made sure EPA and linkages were all set precisely. I also removed the throttle return spring, and used rubber bands on the carb.

LOL
It's sounds like a lot, but in reality it takes maybe 10 minutes to do.
Plus you got to dremel a slot out anyway for the HZ radio tray stiffener to fit.

Was your truggy an RTR? Most blown servos I heard about were the RTR buggy with the Mach 427.
Once I did this to my buggy with the RTR chassis and Mach 427, I never blew another servo.

Most pro kits I believe were because of bad EPA settings.

Mine was a Pro.

I did blow one servo in it but that was a JR 270, and the sometimes blow if the wind changes. :p So that one doesn't really count, does it.

Had a Airtronics 94358 as throttle/brake for two years, it now sits in my XXL doing the same.

I have the same questionas RcBro, Just to make sure what I read on previews post, I can use the 2.0 chassis in a 1.0 roller using the rear ceter dog bone from a 2.0? this is correct? I do not want to convert my 1.0 in a 2.0, just looking for the 2.0 handling characteristics. BTW I'm new to losi, move from Jammin to try something different and better, I hope. ;) Thanks for any info that you guys can bring to the table.
