I am about a month away from picking up this buggy and I can not wait! I have an extra MM 2200 and run this set up in three other trucks with no issues to date. Will this motor drop in this buggy or will I need a conversion kit? Anyone already run thus setup in this buggy?

From everything I've read, your best bet is to buy the Nitro Race Roller and a conversion kit. That way you don't pay for the Losi Engine and speed control.

After looking around it does seem like this might be the best route to go. I think I am going with the Castle conversion kit. Anyone using this kit? I really like the 8ight-E body, anyone know if that body will fit the 8ight 2.0 after conversion?

The 8-e body will fit no problem. I would recommend the losi e conversion though. The castle conversion is good but losi did an excelent job with there conversion as well

The Losi conversion kit is great indeed but the 45t plastic spur will result on being too close to the motor mount 99% of cases, usually there are no more than 0.1- 0.2 mm between them , too much close IMO.
