Hello all!!!!
I am running two insane 370 motors with heat sinks on them. I have a 1s 1000mah lipo I am using to power the truck. I honestly get around 5 minutes of run time with this battery. Does this seem normal, or is something wrong.
Thanks

lots to look at in this questin. first a 1000 milliamp lippo is just that 1000 milliamps, should run like a 1000 milli nicad. second is gearing., When you install a higher rpm motor you typically have to drop the pinion a couple of teeth. Next is your drive line free? I'd just about bet on the battery you descibe 5 minutes is about right. When I was still running two brushed motors the lippo I ran was 1 1320 mil and Seems like 7 to eight minute run times were about the given, thats my 2cents for what it's worth

I get at least 10 min on mlst. Is your gear mesh to tight? Pull your bog bones and check your diffs see if there dragging.

When you ran yours with two motors, did your car just stop when the battery was done? Because I will be playing with mine then it gets a tiny bit slower, and then all of a sudden the entire car shuts off. Not being able to turn it back on or even get power to it until I switch out the batteries. Is this normal for Lipo batteries?

Got a few questions....
Are you running the stock speed controler? If so, it is not LIPO compatible. You should install an inline lipo cutoff to avoid damage.
Secondly, Why a 1s? That's only 3.7v....I am actually suprised that you get any runtime at all! (or that it even moves!)
It almost sounds like the ESC is going into thermal shutdown mode....typically the esc slows significantly then shuts off until it cools adaquately....(time enough to swap batteries). Sounds like you are overgeared if this is happening.

I have the stock esc. I just got a 2 cell 2000mAh lipo. The car came stock with a 2s 1000mAh lipo battery. So if it came with the package from Losi, I'm sure its capable to be able to run at least a 2s without burning anything up.
Also, I had my LHS install a dean connector on there today because I somehow lost my soldering iron. Anyways, when I got home I plugged the battery into my lipo charger. The idiot that put the deans connector on ended up putting it on the wrong way. I quickly figured that out when the connection got extremely hot before I was even able to put the battery down to charge. Thankfully the charger is okay, but I am worried about the battery. Do you think my brand new never used fifty dollar lipo is ruined? If so, hopefully my LHS will give me a new one since its there fault for reversing the polarity of the battery.

Hi, I also had the same problem. My lipo charger is working correctly but I had problems in battery, I have to charge it most times. So, I could not travel too far. Please give me solution, I am sick of this.
