I am looking into getting a xxx s for real cheep. I was going to run it in vta. The car is a roller as well. No moter, esc, and radio. Can any one point me into the right direction on how to set this up and what type of esc/moter combo I should look into. My budget is really low right now so the cheeper the better for me. I do have a 27 mhz radio I will be putting into this until I can get a dsm radio and reciever. Any help would be great.

The XXX-S sedan was a great car back in the day and there was lots of after market red alloy goodies available. The single belt drive was different easy to set. There was a longer more flexible belt available that made it better. The weak points that I found were with the droop settings and the fact that everything was plastic. It was easy to strip the plastic parts, particularly the main chassis where the front and rear end caps go.
Losi are pretty good with parts and I don't think you should have too many issues. Most hobby shops can get parts within a week or so. There are many parts shared with the XXX4g+ off road buggy like diffs, belts, etc.... eBay and other swap shop forums might have people selling their cars and parts cheap so that's another place to look.

The stock spur gear on the Graphite+ version is a 90T in 48 pitch. The pinion to use depends on the track, motor, etc... and it's not possible to give recommendations. Talk to the sedan racers at your club and ask about their ratio or rollout. You can then try to get as close to their settings by changing pinion and/or spur gears.

I know this post is old but VTA is strick on gearing and it is based on FDR. My son and I run xxx-s for VTA and they are pretty bulletproof and all the parts you need are still availible in both plastic and graphite. I heard they are excellant on aspalt and not as competative on carpet. I just can't get the corner traction I hope for on carpet. We will be going outsde track and I am excited. I am a LOSI die hard fan and won't ditch the XXX-s line.

'Well Darin If your winning A mains and still get all the parts you need. It ain't broke don't fix it. What your secret VTA setup to share? I have setup my sons and mine up equal and on last outing my fastest time was exactly his too. They both handle nice but just don't handle the 180 degree corners as well as I would like. I could not get these to traction roll to save my life.

the straight answer is absolutly, the drift-r is a xxx-s in plastic so all sedan parts needed are still currantly supported and easy to get a hold of.
I have three complete xxxs sedans for sale. One stock and the other two graphite. Just not sure where to post them on here.
