i got xxl for xmas have 9 tanks and overheating, breaks lock up when pushing truck forward didnt think new truck should have these problems so took back to lhs they put new clutch springs said i had broke one? as for the breaks they said losi has poor design metal on metal breaks gave me losi brand pads look just like metal ones they said its made of some kind of plastic and its a hop up for the lst and i have to install. when they put new sping on i saw that two shoes had been eaten up pretty bad i thought they should of replaced but instead they took dremil polished and put new slot for sping. love this truck and i am going to lhs tomorrow lookin to buy some hop ups any suggestions and do you think my lhs did me wrong on the shoes & breaks

It's hard to tell with the clutch shoes without seeing it, sounds like they did right by you. They are absolutely right about the brakes, I don't understand why the XXL got the old metal on metal brakes from the org. LST in stead of the fiber pads on metal the LST2 used.

Your tranny is the single speed with reverse but 2 speeds in the spur setup right? i was gonna ask you if you wanted to sell the parts you pull out of your tranny but I'm looking to put high/low gears and reverse in my LST2. Right now FO and single range. I don't have all the pieces to convert it back.

Did you solve the overheating with the bad clutch shoe? I would think your running too lean.

I had the same problem w/my XXL as far as the overheating issue, so I emailed Losi about it and they informed me that 240 to 260 degrees is safe for the 454 engine. I just reset my DX3 temp alarm to sound off at 240 to be on the safe side of things, but I definatly would'nt push over 260.
