Anyone know what the aluminum collars are for that come with the CV driveshafts?

I do believe it is a spacer that goes inbetween
the bearings in the rear hub

should be about 6mm long and slide on axle

Yes those are the bearing spacers. This enables you to fully tighten your wheel nuts down without binding up the axle bearings.
