Is there a hex that lets med use the tlr22 wheels on my xxx4? The hoel in the tlr22 hex is a bit too big. Don't bother too much if it makes the car a bit wide or narrow as I'll only race at the club.

Magnus.
Try the hex from your XXXS, it will fit.
But you will have problem with the nut wrench.

Hi, I just bought this buggy. I need advice what to give to the engine sprocket 17.5. at 10.5, I read that the optimal 22 teeth.
main wheel is standard.
thank you

I was wondering if any knows the difference between..
This
http://www.tlracing.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSA1232
and this
http://www.tlracing.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSA9849
The first one is in the hop up section, are they stronger ? have a little flexibility maybe ?
Can't find anything that say why its an upgrade.
Oh I read a lot of this thread, helped me a bunch, thanks !

Simply looks like one is plastic and the other graphite. Why it goes as option? Not the same as in the kit, maybe. Get an aluminium one if you can find instead. I broke the graphite one first thing I did. Rekon the plastic will break as well.

I think proving the existence of a yeti, would be easier then finding the parts in aluminum :)
I was hoping the plastic would be more flexible then the graphite, if anyone has tryed them let me know please.

Here in Australia. The aluminium pivot mounts are the strongest. I too had used the plastic and graphite. Just broke on the first lap.
I have heaps of the alu pivot mounts. Look on ebay or losi parts house as there are quite a fair bit of 7.5 and 10 degree mounts.

I have raced with the XXX4 for the last 10 years. I`m still racing with it. I cant see how everyone is having issues with the front diff.
I havent had a problem at all. The front diff is to be tight, with a little bit of slippage and the rear to be a little looser than the front.
Hope this helps.

I bought the Alu inner pivot mounts 10 years ago, when I bought the car. Its indestrucable with all of the alu bits and pieces.
I have not seen any alu pivot mounts for sale on the net at all recently.
The only option I can think of is if you read this thread from the beginning. There are a few posts about some being made by a couple of member on this site. Maybe have a look through and it might give you some ideas.

First, let me say that this is a stupid question and I probably already know the answer, but I figured I'd ask everyone's opinion about it.
Has anyone ever tried using a 380 can size brushless system in a Losi XXX4, AE B44, or any other 4x4 10th scale buggy? If so, what were the results?
And to you electric experts (I primarily race 1/8th scale nitro), do you think if I temporarily put this 380 brushless system in my XXX4 and geared it down ALOT, do you think: 1) Will it work?, and 2) Do you think I'd fry the ESC and/or motor?
This isn't for a real race - I'm just trying to put as many electric cars together as I can for an electric "race" we're having for kids this weekend and some of them don't have a car to use.
Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Rick

Hi, our track has been rebuilt and has gone from tight, rough and slippery to open, abrasive and high grip so my old trusty setup no longer works(it also has a long straight and a fast sweeper). Has anyone tried Frank's base setup on this type of track?
I've done the steering mod and have a spare set of 22 big bore shocks to install if I have to.
Thanks.

I just ordered the losa2908 square diff spring and the losa3018 heavy duty thrust bearing. I've hear mixed reviews in previous posts. Also, curious if there are any precautions should follow when when assembling the outdrives with these parts.

With 4 Losi cars in the A-final, Miguel Matias, Mike Truhe, Dustin Evans, and Darren Bloomfield performed very well with the 'old' XXX-4 at the EOS event in Belgium last weekend.
Got one myself lying around for some time, I'm planning to use it at the Belgian/Dutch nationals this year.
Looking for a good basic astro setup, preferrably from last weekend, it's for the same Belgian track (Charleroi)

Somehow mine ripped off the 6 prongs. Then the Kevlar spur didn't stay centered and the middle got chewed up and the slippers got all messed up too. Just ordered a new one (should be in next week) I wasn't sure if it was a common problem.
I guess my other question would be is there a way to bypass the clutch and make that mechanism one solid piece?

You can use one of the XXX-S spur gears, that has the spur and pulley gear molded into one. I wouldn't suggest this though, as you will be going through diffs much quicker.

Are any of the team running 22 hexes on the XXX4? If so how have they
gone about the difference in axle diameter?
I'd like to able to run the same rear wheels for 2WD and 4WD!

Brent, It only works if you are running CVD's. You need the 11/32 nuts, as the 3/8 nut driver will not fit within the 22 wheel. And you really want to use the JRXS hexes, not the 22 hexes, as the JRXS hexes have the correct inner diameter. I haven't done this, so I am not 100% as to which hex is the proper width.
