Bought this yesterday, and in the process of modding it, would like to run it with a lipo, i removed the shock springs, and add3/4 oz on the servo and mounted the battery on the rear axle,

crawls great, next is to weight the wheels,

any ideas for a lipo. Thanks :d

What's the purpose of removing the springs? Does it lower the crawler? I put the battery on the top of a half ounce of weight on top of the servo (I also have a quarter ounce on the back end of the servo and a quarter ounce on the rear plate) and if removing the springs lowers the Micro, then I need to either remove the battery (no!) or modify the body (better). I noticed the Micro rides way high (look at the lower links) and it easily tips over. So lowering it would help. I just don't want to remove the battery because it also tips over backwards on it's top.

Oh yeah...way cool body!:D

An update to the removing of springs on the Micro Crawler. REMOVE YOUR SPRINGS!!! It is the biggest modification any Micro Crawler owner can do! I'm happy I did it. I'm impressed. I've also removed the three quarters of an ounce of weight from the steering servo and replaced a half ounce on the "back side" of the servo. The quarter of an ounce on the rear axle stays. I've move the battery back to it's factory position. I'm also trying the "topless" esc/receiver approach. At RC Crawler.com, some are removing the top of the esc/receiver case to remove some weight. I'm not ready to move the esc/receiver unit.

I am ready to flip the tranny and invert the shocks before the weekend ends. This tiny crawler started off frustrating (I called it "Flipper" early on), but ended a very capable performer. Just short lived with the stock battery. We need a Micro Pro Grappler body! I do like my gun metal grey Micro Crawler body. Like to see that color in a Mini body. And window decals for the Mini and Comp Crawlers!!!

I ended up setting the crawler aside, due to the fact that the shocks brake when u look at them, Both rear shock shafts broke at the ball end, and everyone is out, also the slipper clutch is now slipping alot,:mad:

very unhappy with it, I would like ot have seen better parts on this and waited a few more months, than have it brake like this and have no parts available. Anyone else feel this way.

What are losi plans for parts and hop ups for this little guy. :(

I have not broken my shocks yet, but my buddy has, we fixed his by unscrewing the last bit of broken shaft from the ball cup and epoxying the remaining end in. You lose about 1.5 mm of shock travel, but have not found it to be an issue.

We have also relocated the upper shock mount to where the stock battery and esc mounts screwed into giving back any and more articulation than was lost by the shaft length.

I was wondering if axle swing is a problem for anyone, and if so, what did you do to correct it ? I've done the spring removal, and rearanged the bat/receiver, for better weight bias, but still have an articulation problem from the swing.

I have not had an axle swing issue, but while running droop (springs removed) the chassis would not center after coming off obstacle which created issues if I had to turn while on obstacle.

I stretched micro t rear springs over the shock cap and ball cup as a return spring for droop and the change was almost as noticeable as going form sprung to un sprung.

I have no photo's of mine yet as I am waiting on an aftermarket chassis, but this is a buddy of mines so you can have a visual of what we did with the springs.

Try this,

I drilled new holes in the front and rear a little lower and back from the stock location. Climbs and tracks a lot better now.

Plus you can see my zip-tie front steering link mod too.

Thanks Jay. I had already re-located the upper rear links, and this helped a bit. I'm trying to work out new locations for ALL the rear links. Hopefully, I can get the upper links triangulated, while running straight lower links. Back to the "lab". . .
I guess I've gotten a bit used to my modded WK.

This thing has kept me up to nights in a row. I have a real tacoma 2007 crawler and this thing is more fun. Cheap and hours of fun. This is my 2 set of custom links .+ 3/4 inch longer.

The steering link mod is cool Jay. Looks like you get clearance. It rides up higher. I also noticed that the lower screws on the servo mounts are missing. Is there a reason for that? Update: I have looked at the picture again and I think I know why. It's because you moved the link in the path of the screw.

Since you liked that you removed the springs on the micro rock crawler do you think I could do the same to my losi night crawler and have the same performance differcnce if so I think I'll' do that.:D

Where the heck did you get that body? I've been looking all over for a bug body. Please please tell me!!

Oh nevermind, I already found it, built it and painted it! I love this body as it is a near perfect fit. Just a little reaming on the fender wells with my dremel and its good to go! I wish I could post a pic but my files are just way too big. I will have to make a video and post the link instead. Anyone else looking for this body? It's a Tamiya 1/24 scale model part # 24136

Ok I figured out how to resize the photo. So here it is! This body was a perfect fit but in the droop setup the fender wells need a little reaming.

Does anyone have a schematic diagram of the stock ESC?

I bought mine with a tons of mods on it. Droop setting for suspension, the shocks are inverted. Springs still on them though, works very well.

The ESC was moved all the way forward, and is now caseless to fit where it is.

Hi-Tec servo, and some micro deans plugs with a few Thunder Power RC lipo batts.

Lots of run time with those over the NiMh batts. All four tires were built up on the sides by

using 4 other tires and increasing the sidewall height buy almost double.

No foam in the tires but atleast a half ounce of bb's in each tire.

Really conforms to the terrain, and the servo is more than strong enough to really crank it left and right.

Anyway, I want to make sure all my wiring is correct and having a wiring diagram or electrical schematic of the ESC would be great.

Oh, waterproofed it all with some Conformal silicone spray. Works great and adds a nice thin layer of protection.

Thanks alot if some one has the info.

I was thinking that even a pic of both sides of the ESC would help, out of the case of course.]

Thx!! :)

Found one, Post some pics anyway!! Thanks again!
