View Full Version : What arm is stronger....EA3 or Graphite?

I have a Speed-T. Looking to upgrade the Arms all around. What would be more durable for track use....EA3 or Graphite?

Graphite is stonger. EA3 is supposed to have impact resistance but Graphite has more strength. I have had a lot less breaking with Graphite then EA3.

That's what I was thinking as well. Prob will get T Pivot plate and F/R Arms.....

I've seen good results with both types. Graphite front arms offer rigged support which tends to allow the car to deflect off course dividers with out cracking or ending your run short. It also seems to allow the car to have less front end static movement almost a knumbness feel of front end movements on ruff tracks it feels like the front end chattersacross the track surface the front end may even fell stiff suspenssion wise. This works great when my local track dries out I use graphite arms as a tuning option. The negitive to graphite arms is per track type and conditions, most notably when landing on angels or single front wheel first landings. The car seems to react out of shape on landing sometimes resulting in crashes that can cause damage in other areas turnbuckles ball studs that sort of thing from flips and spills because the front end did not allow the car to soak up the landing fast enough.. Graphite t-plates seem to work well on high bite tracks to allow lower rear bite. Tire wear seems to decrease on certain track types and significantly increase on others. I only tend to use graphite t-plates when track conditions are very harsh or jump sections allow risky lines that you risk the chance of coming up short and chassis slapping the peak of the landing. EA3 tends to offer the oposite effects in these areas. These are also the only areas I mess with graphite anymore EA3 tends to allow the car to react better to smaller set-up adjustments. EA3 also soaks up driver error mistakes more effectively. Each offers great atributes for your car and these simple things are just what I have observed during my own testing and practice.

I see that graphite is surely stronger , no doubt about it . But EA3 is more forgiving by a long shot .

That being said I think it really depends on a few factors , track conditions and driving . I like the EA3 when my local track has high grip and vice versa . If you are a great driver and hit your lines exact every lap and don`t crash I wouldn`t think it matters , but I wouldn`t know . There are a very select few who fall into that category .

Hmm....maybe EA3 for the rear, and both to try out for the front.....:D

At LH I normally ran graphite up front .

I'll prob try that.

I wonder what the stock RTR plastic is? I know the chassis is some sort of composite as it's fairly stiff.
