i run my xxx converted to late model with a speedys racing parts conversion kit and touring car shocks during the summer . our local off road indoor track closes in summer. last time out i got it handling the way i wanted but the compition were running 4.5s to my 13.5 so i got dead last . just got a 5.5 in it and racing saturday night with it. i can also run bomber class with this conversion simply by getting the body and mounting it .

I have a XXX-CR buggy with a Mc Callister IMCA Modified body on it. No fancy parts though, just some creative body mounts.

Speed-T shock towers on a XXX-TCR make it turn left really good. Really lays down the shocks.

My XXX-S GP is an animal on the oval in the 4wd 1/10 Late Model class.

My second R/C was a Junior-2 I converted to run gearbox stock on an oval back in the early ninties I'm all over Losi cars on a dirt oval!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I'm glad to hear that others are running XXX buggys on dirt oval! I have four right now.
(One) I have set-up as a Coupe. Using Speed "T" shock towers and front buggy shocks on
all four corners. This is a 5.5 sec. break-out class where I race. Using a Mamba Max ESC
with 4600Kv motor, and 3200 2s 40c Lipo.
(Two) Is set-up for Sportsman Class. This is also a Break-out at 6.0 sec. It has home made body mounts and Custom Works body. Running a LRP ESC and Tekin Redline 10.5 motor.
(Three) Is set-up a as a EDM. I made the mounts for the Custom Works body. Using a Xcelorin ESC and motor.
(Four) Is still in the build stage. Using Factory Works shock towers, and XXXS shocks. And Custom Works body plus Mamba Max ESC.

All Four of my car are running Custom Works rims and tires front and rear. I use Custom Works or Assc. front caster blocks. I put a small piece of alum. or brass tubing in the block.
That way I can still use the shock hinge pin.

Thanks

If I may ask, Why are you running the CW rims and tires.

The track that I race at is a Hard packed dirt oval. And we run rubber tires. I have found that if I cut their street tracs down to slicks that they work the best for me. I have tried
HPI and Panther slicks. But the cut down Custom Works tires are the best for my driving.

I wonder if your running the old CW street tracs or the new ones. They have a newer version out that they shortened the tread depth for this exact reason, everyone was shaving them down :)

I ran high rollcenters front and rear, 50/40 oil, and it was really fast.

The xxx-s is a awesome dirt oval car. I'd be sure to have the graphite chassis, the plastic one flexes way too much.:)

Yes, I am using the older street tracs. I don't use the high bite compound. The rubber is so soft that it will tare when removing the treads.

Also the track that I race at did run a 4wd touring class. We ran Nascar bodies and 21t motors. But I'm sad to say that the class dropped off the face of the earth. So mine are on the top shelf with all the dust bunnies.
